It's warming up again in that mysterious little town of Shady Pines, where all the girls are exceptional and a lot of the boys are frequently unconscious for reasons they can't remember. Every spring the cheer and dance squad at the high school volunteers for cleaning and civic beautification projects as a fundraiser. Varsity captain Madison Whitfield is seen here spraying a quick touch up of paint in some corner of the school. Like most elite athletes Maddie is sensitive of the condition of her lungs, and so she wears a properly fitted respirator to avoid breathing fumes as she works.

NOTES: First new piece since I broke my non drawing wrist. I have spent a lot of time thinking about style and techniques while I was healing up, and I have decided to continue to focus on the style I both like best and find least physically taxing to deal with, which is thin mechanical pencil style lines and relatively light 'inks.' I currently find it too much of a strain on my joints to work in heavier ink lines on a bigger scale.

I have decided that the little town of Shady Pines exists more or less in an undefined bubble of time which is always 'now.' Madison is someone we've seen before (scroll back for a pic of her and a friend doing some dusty cleaning).

I think it's pretty funny that I sort of mangled her left hand badly during my sketching phase. my own left hand is presently very uncomfortable. Subconscious sabotage?
