After Slade saw what Maria had just done. He could not believe what a kid, at the age of 10, could do to 15 guards. He was indeed impressed.
"Death, is just an ending to every lifetime--" Slade said.
"No." Maria interrupts. "Death is just the beginning."
Most child at her age would be crying and terrified, but not Maria. Slade knew at that time, this kid has the blood of a killer. The look in the young girls eyes convinced Slade that she is capable of being the perfect apprentice.
