aaaaaaw poor carl...
i'm pretty happy with how this came out.
i found this neat line of sketches from the new pixar movie up.

the last image is the one i referenced for this pic.
i was also inspired by the soundtrack (particularly the track "married life").
i really wanted to convey the sadness carl felt with ellie gone.
this was an amazing movie. i just wish i'd seen it in 3-D.

I don't know why, but when he was holding the balloon during that scene it just somehow made it even sadder.
