Description
Wooh, here is my character Aurora, the Solar Queen of the Candle Timeline. I thought her wings would look lined in color, but then the rest of the black lines looked weird, so I colored all of the lineart anyway. I should probably not have gradients in my characters if I want to color their lineart, it's a really tiring process to combine the twoBut anyways, I hope you guys like this little piece.
If you do, please consider commissioning me! Something like this would cost $15/1500

I'm commenting on behalf of the Everything must go contest
I like the colored lineart, it makes the picture look soft and gives it a pastel aesthetic that goes well with the angel design. I read your description saying she's meant to be the Queen of the Candle timeline, which makes the soft, candle wax like shape of her wings even better. I don't know if this is where you wanted the focus to be, but my eyes are definitely drawn to hers, not only because of the hard black lineart but also because her cool purple eyeshadow contrast against all the warm colors. Its also good that the rest of her design has sprinkles of cooler colors so it looks more even. I like the little bangles, and I also like the lightening effect on the tip of her hair. I might suggest having that bright highlight on the rest of her body of that side to make the light source more obvious, and do some shading in a light color, but the flat style kind of works too. Having the background be in that shade of purple was a smart choice because it contrast the majority of the character while also picking up the purples in her design.
This is a nitpick, and feel free to ignore me, but one little thing seems a little off about her costume. There's the orange belt that goes around her middle and is holding up a red sash that drapes over her yellow skirt, and it seems like there's no fabric underneath the red sash. I think it would make more sense to either lower the orange belt to be around her hips and having the red sash still go over her yellow skirt, or make the yellow skirt be higher so there's not an awkward naked patch under her clothes.
The forearms look oversized compared to the rest of her body, and they make her shoulders look too small, even though they're pretty proportionate with the rest of her. The fingers of her left hand look large and not well defined, particularly the last on where it just curls instead of seeing the knuckles. The shape of her left foot is pretty good, and would have been an interesting stylization if she were wearing stocking/socks, but the fact that they're supposed to be her bare feet make it look unfinished.
Her legs also look a little long and bulky compared to how slender her torso and head look. I would either make her limbs shorter and slimmer or bulk up her head and torso to make it look more cohesive.

Very awesome design on Aurora here. She's like an angel with fire in her veins and able to control the flames around her like a fire bender from a faraway island or from the heavens like a greek goddess.

Well that's very close to how it is. She lives in a sky kingdom as a destined princess, and the fire inside her that comes out as her hair is showing that she feels great passion for the life around her. But their wings are made of wax, and they die when they've fully melted, so her people are afraid of her. But she is fairly good at controlling her fire

I see. She's kind of like Icarus but instead of making wings that melt when they're too close to the sun, her hot wings melt when she uses her powers and she can never use them again if fully melted. I guess her royal subjects would have some doubts about her and her abilities. A young princess has a lot to learn before she becomes what is destined to be after all.

Oh yes! She does learn to use them better with some help, but the ending is not quite triumphant

Such is the way of a character with abilities and defects that could cause their downfall. It's tragic the way that some powerful people can fall so easily or in a big way that makes them look like heroes or tragic ones.

I definitely agree. The Solar Queen is a tragic hero across all her timelines, but each one develops it in a different way. Maybe in one of them she'll be just a hero

That could happen. She might just be the shining example her kingdom and people need to look up to without having her own pride and ego get in the way of her success in life.
