Description
Here's a link to the MAP Parts this was used in: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ki6uxz…Woohoo I entered my first ever MAP! There was a pretty strict color palette for it, so I decided to go all out with my experimentation! The rules also stated no blood/gore so the red stuff on his hands and the ground isn't meant to be blood, and that's more apparent in the actual animation, where you can also see the green color palette ~
But I really really really like how this turned out, and I hope you do too!

So starting as usual with plusses I must say that you definitely having a great feeling of perspective since character on picture looks like real 3d object, no matter the shading, as also worth mentioning the angle of perspective, like if camera is placed somewhere on a same level as his hands do.
Second thing I noted is shading itself, it's pretty easy! and easy in good meaning of course, because even with it's simplicity it put more depth into piece and also shows perfectly where from the light is going. not even saying about how good it makes viewer understand what part of picture is what
And third thing I noticed (and probably will try out too) is how shading is made. honestly I never saw when some of the areas of picture aren't colored and only having some lights put above them. it makes character and background look so nice together that viewer may not even notice that bg is just a gradient. quite an interesting technique, never saw it before
As now to minuses, I know that it will be hard to nitpick a battle-hardened artist, but I'll try >3
So what first I noted is his legs or thighs especially. I guess it's a style, but in my opinion some of leg anatomy is missing, because as picture shows his trousers are stretched and they must tighten some muscle bumps. Yet also should note that all my nitpicks are just how I'd approach it, since it's such level of art where you basically so skilled that having no need to add something new
Next what noted is his feet. thing is that in it's quite hard and a bit painful (especially in knees) to keep it in such position due to our anatomy. just drawing it as feet's fingers are pushed into ground while the heel is looking up would look if not better then at least more natural
And the third nitpick (I can't go without it uwu) is his emm....butt. don't get me wrong, yet me as some lawd nosepipe mus note that in such position the fat on buttcheek on the outline should be more straight, creating sort of a triangular, and also not forgetting about that there's a sort of fosse in place of connection of leg and butt
Yet all in all this picture is PERFECCCCT, because of well developed style and well made out perspective angle. I have nothing more to say except that it's quite a nice art piece with some ideas to (steal) try out

Thank you so much for the critique Voy, it's nice to get a taste of my own medicine as they say lol. I'm glad you like the techniques I used, I was trying to experiment in every way I could and I'm glad you like the results as much as I do
And the critiques are much appreciated! I have trouble with the structure of pelvises in most of my work so I'm not surprised the butt looks weird, I'll keep working on that. And the legs to the feet as well.
So thank you once again for the compliments and critique! And I'd definitely encourage you "steal" some of my techniques lol, I'd love to see that sort of thing explored more often

Oh dear this a very creepy feeling piece. The angle, the pose, the colors, and so much more. I can just imagine all the movements before and after this piece. Also what does MAP mean?

Thank you, I'm glad you got what I was going for!
And a MAP stands for Multi Animator Project. Someone will host a MAP by taking a song or audio clip and cut it into bits, which will then be given to different animators. For this one it was a 3ish minute song, with each animator getting 3-6 seconds each. After everyone is done, the host edits them all together to make a sort of music video made by a bunch of different people.
So if you're interested the link in the description has my full animated part, so you can actually see the movements he made before and after this piece

Seeing this really shows Luis in a intense moment where he feels the anguish of whatever he's suffering from. 😳

I can imagine that Luis will be going through some emotional stuff in his story since he seems to be seen in a intense moment within the art piece you did of him here.

Oh yes. He's sort of the protagonist throughout most of my stories' span. Right here he's dealing with the fact that his main story is over, and he's left physically crippled because of it . So now he's dealing with a lot of pain and regret

Dang! 😫 He sure had it rough on his journey then. Such a tragic way to end it too unless there is a resolve and with an ending full of hope for this guy.

Yeah, his journey has been very very very long....
I haven't figured his ending out either, but he definitely deserves a good one!
