Hello, I'm here from to give your piece a comment.

So what caught my attention immediately was how colorful this image was. It looks magical and almost dream-like. I also like how clean your line-work is, and how it flows and curves adds to the whimsical atmosphere of the pic. A tree growing gems is quite creative, and it's clear that's where all the glowing is coming from, however, i feel the glow make the gems can look a bit hazy, especially for those that are pushed more to the foreground. Is it suppose to indicate that they're going out of focus because the gems are suppose to be really close? I also feel that if the gems are glowing then the centers should be lighter (think like Christmas lights), to indicate that they're shining. Changing the line-art color to a lighter color could also help making the gems look like they're glowing. In fact, you might want to try using colored line-art to make it blend more with the image. I also see some gold flakes in the background, but they're overshadowed by all the colorful hazes, they're almost unnoticeable, and i think that could be fixed if they were a brighter shade.

Really, my one major criticism is the lack of distinct shading and highlights. The only things that seem to have shading are the stairs and the tree, and even then it's quite slight. A deep purple, blue, or whatever dark shade you think would work (as long as it's not grey or black), would give everything more dimension, and make it seem like light is being cast on the character and her surroundings. And of course, highlights should be present wherever the gems are shining upon.

And that is all i have to comment on. Great work, and i hope my advice helps you for any future images.

Thank you so much for the comment and critique, they're greatly appreciated!

I'm glad it felt whimsical and dream-like, that's what I was going for! And for the gems in the front, the intention was meant to show they were closer to the viewer, mimicking what happens in real life. The things you mentioned about improving the gems does make sense, and I agree that playing around with the linework's colors could definitely elevate the piece.
And I usually use a deep purple for shading but when I finished coloring the tree it looked complete to me. I decided with all the bouncing light from the gems it might be easier to just color the rest of the image similar to the tree, mottled shades with no definite shading. It definitely breaks the realism of the piece, but I think that goes back to the piece being dreamlike-it isn't supposed to fit realistically. Of course this piece was only a concept in the greater scheme of that idea, so I'll definitely explore adding shading to pieces like this one in the future.

Once again thank you for the comment and critique, I'll keep your advice in mind while working on any future pieces!

Hello! I found your very colorful art thanks to

And as said in the intro, what caught my eyes was the many many colors into it. I have no idea what this "Oak Haven" place is, but it seems to be really peaceful. And the fiery dust in the air adds to this impression.
Speaking of which, what is this star shaped dust actually? Or what does it represent? The character's happiness or just that's a magical location?
The background is well done, especially the outerwalls and the... windows? Doors? I'd say it's door, as they're on floor level yet I could be wrong if it happens to be a magical place.  I also quite like how you made the drape/curtains over said door. There is only one thing (and it's a detail) that bother me: it'd the sill/border of the garden where the tree is, where it turn, I think the outer like should get closer to the inner line (I don't know if I'm being clear here ^^').
The light diamonds are well done and the fact the two or three in the foreground are a bit "fuzzy" is like a photo has been taken and this part was out of focus, that's cool.

Regarding the character in herself, even though she's not centered, she still seems to be the main focus of the drawing. She's well drawn (the hands in particular, eventhough the wrist does look a bit too thin, but that goes with your art style I believe) However she maybe has too big a smile for her face as it takes almost all of the lower part of it? Also the.. breast seems to be facing the viewer when it should be in profile like the rest of the body (or the character has a severe scoliosis). I'd say the shadding is strange as the light seems to be coming from everywhere, but then I thought that it probably could be the case ^^.

However, why "Oak Haven" though, as the drawing don't really answer it? Or... would the character's name be Oak? It could explain her feeling relaxed and at ease.

(btw, watched the meme, it's nicely done)

Hello! Thank you for your kind words and critique, they're very appreciated!

The orange specks are actually meant to represent to sand, but I understand that's super unclear haha... All my characters have souls represented by a timepiece, and they will shine a certain color when a character feels a strong passion. Her's is an hourglass, so the sand is what shines. And orange represents desire/satisfaction in one's desire, so it's kind of a combination of both, as it's a magical display of her happiness.

I'd say they're arches, I'n not exactly sure where they all go haha, this was based on a dream from years ago, but I'm using it as a setting for my story, I just never finished developing it...

I also definitely agree with you about the border of the garden, the background curves much more sharply now that I look at it again.

As for the character, yeah I'm not a big fan of her anatomy. The placement was supposed to be an experimentation with the 2 thirds rule, but I'm not sure if I pulled that off lol
And I colored te tree first, and then decided that would function as interesting shading style, so I tried replicating the effect with the rest of the piece, but I agree that the light would be coming from everywhere, I'd imagine this place has a constant warm glow.

As for the title, Oak Haven is the name of the location. As I said it's based on a dream so it's not completely planned out, but it is supposed to be a safe place for the two characters from the meme. The "Oak" part comes from the tree she's standing under. It's in the center, and I'd probably draw it as taller/larger without the constraints of YouTube's video shape, but I also imagine the shape and overall appearance changes depending on the people there. In an unfinished sketch from years back when I first had the dream, the tree had a  canopy of leaves, and looked much more like an oak tree. the gems were still there, as was the layout and background. I decided for this piece I would fous less on the leaes and more on the gems. But as I said, the appearance of the oak, and possibly the entire haven, might change.

((Thank you for taking the time to watch it, I'm glad you like it! ^.^))

Once again thank you for the detailed comment!   I hope you have a good day/night

I love the crystal fruit on the tree. It's as though the beauty of mother nature has crystallized into vibrant light, ripe and ready to fall so we may hold that light in our hands.

It's quite the beautiful piece, that's for sure.

Such a beautiful piece! 😊 It adds to a warm feeling and I like how the tree has crystals lighting the room. It's like being in a sacred place where you can come and rest under a tree that'll keep you safe and at peace with yourself.

Looking at the art pieces for this concept, I can see it becoming a vast realm where there many fantastical things but also some pretty awful stuff that are only seen in places where both light and darkness reign. This being a part of the light because it offers comfort and wonder.
