Hello from ProjectComment , I'm here to return a comment
First off, the description here is great and I love it, it adds to the image and makes me laugh.
What I notice first: First of course I notice all of the lovely bright colors. Then I'm drawn to the eyes and the expression. It's very serene and mysterious.
What I like: I love all the colors and the effort put into this. I used to color full page collages and boy does that take a lot of time, especially with colored pencils! So the dedication required and the effort put in is a lot I can tell. I love the rainbow color scheme, the colors go together very nicely and they seem to flow like a rainbow. It looks like you thought about where to put each color the way a stained glass window is supposed to look, and this is stained-glass window -esque. The varied line weight is very nice especially around his head and the top of his wings, that's part of what makes the focus drawn to his expression first.
What could be improved: The image quality is very blurry. This happens a lot with traditional art. Scanning completely saps color if you have a cheap scanned and taking photos of the image is tricky to get clear and flash puts a huge light spot on the image. I suggest taking the picture during the day near a window or outside and position it in a way that there are no shadows. You'll want to fit the picture into the frame as much as possible so there is as little blurring and noise as possible.
I'm not sure if it's the photo quality or the type of ink(?) you used but the contrasting could definitely be boosted up in those black lines. If it's the photo quality then take it into an art program (paint. net is a free one) and boost the contrast and saturation a bit so the blacks and colors aren't washed out by the photo. If I could see those black lines more clearly everything else here would definitely pop more and with something colorful like this it should pop.
Overall this is very beautiful and the colors and expression where his mouth is covered with the butterfly are my favorite part and I believe the best feature of this piece.

Hello again! Thank you so much for the comment and advice. This was a really big piece, so I had trouble finding any way to photograph it, but I might try again with the tips you gave me!
And I'm glad the coloring ended up working out alright, there was definitely a lot of staring at empty spots trying to figure out what went into them, so I'm glad I pulled off the final result!
The main reason for the butterfly covering his mouth was because I couldn't get the mouth to look right haha, but I will definitely pretend it's symbolic of his backstory, he was held captive for a while and used as a tournament fighter, so there definitely is potential for flashback situations lol
Once again thank you for the comment!

Something about Stained Glass always catches my eye for some reason. I still want to see the ones in Notre Dame once it's reopened back to the public. Just need to get a passport and money for that though.

Oh man I definitely relate to that! Travel would be a lot less stressful if it was cheaper haha
And thank you for the watch!

No problem. I've got a soft spot for art in just about all forms.
