Love the coloration, but the rotary is too clean. Was the Snipe before the Camel?

The Snipe came later than the Camel, but was not nearly as successful. In fact, despite having a 230hp Bentley BR2 beast up front, which was around 100hp more than the power of the Camel's Clerget 9b, the performance of the Snipe was disappointing. We are talking only single figures in terms of how much extra speed was attained.
