This piece was based on seeing one of my design files out of the corner of my eye. For anyone familiar with Sketch, you can layout several artboards next to each other, and if they have variable heights, it can end up looking like an upside down bar chart.

I started playing around with negative space, creating these jagged lines that were vaguely reminiscent of the falling code from The Matrix. I later used this design pattern in a few user interfaces as an abstract representation of computer code, which is a great example of how important it is to have interests outside of your day job. You never know what random project could give you a creative solution to the tasks you have during the work week.
