This is my monster submission for the Outcast Odyssey contest.

The Spinal Worm is a parasite that latches on to (you guessed it!) the spine of its host. As the worm grows stronger it alters the DNA of the host body, creating a stronger host and increasing the worm's chances for survival. The worm can attach to any creature, but this is what it does to a human host. Shown here is the level 3 version. Level 1 would look similar to an average zombie, with some small worms around the skull and neck area. As the worm levels up the host becomes more and more deformed. Level 4 would have larger spines and horns, and the deformation would be much greater, possibly even dissolving the human face into the body. There would be more worms as well.
