Premium Members can now use Google Analytics to get meaningful insight about the traffic to their deviantART Profile! Using our new Google Analytics integration, you can access comprehensive statistics about your audience, traffic, and art.
Get Deeper Insight Into Your deviantART Traffic
By enabling the feature on your profile, you can now use Google Analytics to get a better grasp on the deviantART experience that you’ve created for your audience!
- Understand what types of people are organically drawn to your work. Where do they live? How long are they on your page?
- See the impact of the marketing you do outside of deviantART. When you share your deviantART work and links in other networks and sites, you’ll be able to track the traffic back to your Journals, Gallery, Profile, and much more!
- Understand what your visitors are looking at when they’re on your Profile and even for how long! Sometimes visitor trends are unclear until you can see the bigger picture.
- Evaluate the difference in attention you get for some types of work versus others.
- See a direct correlation between your marketing activities to deviation submissions and spikes in traffic to your Journals, artwork, or Profile pages.
Learn More About Your Audience Knowing who is engaging with your Profile can help you make decisions about where to hang out, what Groups to join, and other things you might want to share with your audience.
Watch Realtime Activity Flow To Your Profile
Google's realtime reports allow you to sit back and watch activity happening on your content right this second.
View Traffic Stats For Your Content
Google Analytics allows you to dive into traffic stats for deviations, Journals, Galleries, Collections, and other areas of your Profile Page. See which deviations are the most popular today and find out where that traffic is coming from.
Track and Analyze Your Watches and Favourites
Our Google Analytics integration tracks when someone watches or adds your artwork to their favourites, allowing you to view charts and statistics of these events. How many favourites did Reddit traffic give you this week? How many new watchers did you gain last weekend after submitting your newest deviation? Did you gain more watchers this month or last month?
Favourites and Watches are available under Google Analytics' "Events" reports.
...And A Ton Of Other Reports
Here's just a sample of some of the stats you can see:
- Traffic charts, graphs, and statistics by date
- Traffic demographics (geographic locations, languages...)
- Visitor stats (new visitors, returning visitors, time spent on pages, number of pages viewed, bounce rates...)
- Top sites and social networks sending you traffic and, for some social networks, the individual posts that are linking to your content
- Search engine keywords people are using to find your Profile Page and content
Measure How Your Activity Impacts Your Audience Growth
Google Analytics can help you make decisions on how you manage your deviations. It can also allow you to see the impact of your on site activities.
- If you find that your audience is more active on certain days or times, you’ll be able to determine a schedule for posting new art or Journals.
- Perhaps you’ll find that the more you comment, the more you see your pageviews and watch list jump.
- If commenting, and critiquing others’ artwork for example, helps increase the level of activity on your Profile, perhaps you’ll decide to do this more frequently.

Now that is a slap on DA users everywhere if anyone could figure that one out.
I don't want Deviantart being like Youtube, its hell on it cause of Google. Google Plus is a another way for users to not say but be tracked in what the other is saying on a company bases.
Its slap on the creator of this site if he lets Google buy up DA.
I will never want them to him to do that.

If you "don't want people using it on me without my consent," I recommend turning off the Internet and never using it again. deviantART is hardly the first, or last, or only site to use Google Analytics. You may want to read up on Google Analytics before you try to single out deviantART as somehow tracking you, specifically, just because they are offering this service to Premium members. www.google.com/analytics/
There's actually a very, very good chance someone has 'used it on you without your consent' already and you didn't know about it, because the website was not upfront about how they measure and record their user stats.

sweetheart, you are an idiot. my fiance is a coder and i am very much into this information. i made sure to restrict and turn off so much of this crap and abstain from many browsers sites and i know what it does. google analytics does what google has been doing for a long time and tracks people using their personal data information. the information is shared with many people not just browsers here it is used by companies as well as governments and even by non-humans for data-tracking purposes. this is why i left yahoo and have my own personal mail domain. this is why i have a locked website with all data-crawlers autobanned. this is why i still use snail-mail
i have done hunts for myself on data-sale sites as well as free-info sites and i very rarely find /anything/ on myself and take it down whenever i do. i would like to continue limiting my exposure to strangers thank-you-very-much and would like you to take your complacency somewhere else
by the way you can actually get quite a bit of information by clicking ctrl+u (for firefox) and rightclick+page info and by reading the terms of service where sites are, by law, obligated to say if they are using data-mining technologies and what they are using them for
congratulations, you are now slightly less ignorant of the world around you -claps hands-

Well, we both misjudged each other. The first of my four college degrees is in computers, so I also knew all of that. My "complacency," such that it is, is less about not caring and more about working WITH the direction technology is always going to go.
Are you also one of those people who slaps the Google Glass off of peoples' faces? Do you give the poor kid at the checkout a ten-minute lecture when they don't understand why you say "no, thank you" when they ask for your zip code? Do you pay only in cash for all sales transactions?
I know full well who is "using" my data. I don't understand why Edward Snowden is a big deal, because he hasn't said anything that shouldn't have been already obvious. I am very much aware of who I have, and have not, allowed to have access to my info.
You feel more comfortable erasing your presence almost entirely, and devoting the time and effort to it. I feel more comfortable devoting my time and effort to carefully managing my presence. The government and companies that you're so concerned about feel more comfortable with the presence of people they know something about and who seem to be "normal" by the machine-generated data. I guess time will tell who's more "ignorant of the world" around them.

well the first and last of those assumptions are quite true. i do explain why it is that google remembers your search and why you get oddly relevant ads when you visit new places, i also pay cash and do not use a debit card even when buying things like car parts and groceries, it is my way of keeping myself as close to 'dead' as possible without becoming a crazy hermit in the woods. i believe my information is mine alone to give. i respect your choices but i feel i am doing alright with my own
it is good to see you understand my reasoning even if you don't believe in them, forgive me for being so caustic before

Not a problem! I know I also came off as blunt in my initial reply. I just see too many people who think hiding a widget or clicking a different notification setting on Facebook somehow makes their online activity "private," when for the most part all it does is hide what they're seeing personally. I'm just glad to find out you actually DO know how to stay off the digital grid when you want to.

Quantcast is a web page, it is free and you don't download it, you just go to www.quantcast.com , introduce your web address where it asks you to and you see the traffic measures for it.

By that logic, everyone should leave their houses unlocked, because a determined and skilled enough thief will be able to break in and steal your s██t anyway. Leaving the doors unlocked just makes it more accessible. Why use medicines or doctors when you might still get sick anyway? Lack of medical care just makes it easier. Why wear a coat you might freeze anyway? Being exposed just makes it more likely. Why look both ways before crossing the street when you might get hit by a truck anyway? Not looking out just increases the chances.

I thought this was already included in Premium, Imagine my confusion when I clicked on "stats" only to see it was the same stats I got for free but with pictures attached o.O
Really not sure what the upsell is with premium *headscratch*
