well, the only real way of getting a quality finish is by getting in there and working the pixels by hand, usually with a mouse [can be hell on the hand and wrist though..]

I already can see myself playing in some HP game with the good-old pixel graphics (which I preffer more than the new 3D technologies) game and venturing in your graphics.
