Description
Couldn't resist putting a picture of our toy... not a good vehicle on the road, but you take it off road and it will take a mountain straight on... it is a 1974 Austrian Pinzgauer. We wanted something we could use to go anywhere, up mountains and in the desert. Course it would be a good idea to get seat belts for the back... we went down a mountain (*see CLIFF!* ), when I looked into the back I saw my son floating in the air!The outside is covered in iniuotti (okay I can't spell... it is a plastic type coating, covering for the body and undercarriage so the paint stays and is protected) It could use an AC unit but it was made for those Austrian winters, the heat works GREAT!!
Just for fun!
EDIT: if you'd like to see more of these in action go to the swpinzgauer site: [link]

I know, it is a pleasure to play with... though at the moment it's electrical system is being revamped as well as the upholstery, to include seat belts was the biggest choice though

Seatbelts... yes. In the Pinzgauer or the rocket?

the Pinz, though if you were talking with my son and son-in-law, they would ask if the rocket was for a big explosion or for flight to outer space?

Actually, isn't that made in Germany or Austria? This was made back in the early 70's for the Austrian Army. The new ones coming out on the market start at over $125,000 with all the goodies. Kinda much when you can get one of these and refurbish it yourself for under $12,000. Much better price
Thank-you for the

I am sooo bad about that.... I should have looked it up first? That's what I get for trying to finish my notes quickly.... no such thing as fast!
All I knew for certain was the Americans hadn't built it!
Thank-you for letting me know, now I will never forget, unless the old Sometimerz attacks and wipes my memory!

I agree Completely! It is a BLAST to drive, so many gears and gadgets, I'm in heaven! course passengers insist we get seatbelts, *sigh no more flying through the air

Pft! Seatbelts are for people that feel the need to stay attached to something while in motion! Of course not taking a passenger in the head while you're driving is likely a good thing!

There is a wire cage wall separating the front two seats from the back benches, so no problems with getting bopped
the flying part was fun, the landing not so fun!

The only problem is we NEED seatbelts in the back for our passengers... not a good thing to look back and see everyone floating in the air as we go zooming down a mountainside!
Love this thing!
Thank-you

well .. look at the bright side ...one way to look at it .. as a "human-blender" ... .. you know ... just like when you put all your fruits together and blend them to make some jiuce lol .. instead of seatbelts .. try coushining the whole interior of the vehicle ....

I'm in Phoenix, Dearheart works over in Scottsdale. is in Scottsdale, actually I think there are quite a few of us from Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe/Avondale
The last job I had was with Hancock Fabrics (made a Lot of good deals when they closed, though ) my kids were going to a school in Scottsdale, but being the goofus I am, I only wrote the checks to the kids for their classes, they scheduled what they needed. My daughter and son-in-law now work for Dell, with my son starting with Dell next month. Course they are there due to their experiences with their Dad and all he taught them through the years. *psssst that is my own humble opinion
service is necessary in this day and age, I'm glad they have found jobs that work with their college continuation, they wanted to pay for their own classes, I love it when kids become adults.
