The red and blue loops are lissajous curves, made with trig functions. A thin curve morphs from the red to the blue, and then does it again, and again. It's a linear morph, and the intermediate curves never seem to get tired! Drawn in Mathematica and exported as a .gif for your viewing pleasure.
