They could have at least done Gary, the only likable character besides Plankton on the show. I bet the only reason they used Patrick was because of the end of the episode, Grooming Gary.

A: Complete Idiots
B: Guys that wanted to raise Nickalodeons self esteem by showing that their shows are unstoppable

Spongebob is one of my favorite cartoons(yes I like the new seasons too), but I do agree. It doesn't seem to be fair to have a show like his to be an award show, it's like if Nintendo does the same thing and puts Mario or Pokemon as nominees

The kids' choice awards nowadays make stupid choices (e.g. at there 2011 ceremony, and I kid you not, they picked Adam Sandler for "favorite actor" for his performance "Jack and Jill", and even gave that horrid Alvin and the chipmunks "favorite film"), in fact why don't they change the name to Kids' Bad choice awards

It's because SpongeBob is Nickelodeon's star pupil. It's doing everything in it's power to ensure SpongeBob stays successful for a very long time. You know how desperate Nick is today. That if SpongeBob dies, then Nick goes with it.

Well, Spongebob won again this year, and I am getting very annoyed that he keeps winning, when the show isn't even anywhere near as good as it used to be. It's very definite the poll is rigged so that Nick gets their personal picks, with their pet sponge drying up the competition.

Avatar: The Last Airbender beat Spongebob one year. So there's that.
I assume that he's the one that most kids are familiar with. Unfortunately you're not going to see shows like TUFF Puppy or Sanjay and Craig win Best Cartoon when Spongebob dominates every other show in ratings and has a ginormous loyal fanbase. It's sad but if it's what the kids like then let them have their fun.
