This is one of the pictures my Mum took at the rugby game on the 14th of June 2008, All Blacks vs England.And I was privileged to be part of the pre-match entertainment: two medieval armies 50 strong, wearing "sable with a fern argent" and "argent, a cross and rose gules" i.e. black with a silver fern for the Kiwis, and white with a red cross and rose for the English.
I was in the centre of the English side, I have a big white kite-shaped shield, and a pointy silver helm with a brass baronial circlet around it (This is borrowed because they thought my big black full-face helm looked silly
) I die gloriously in the second lot of fighting. ****
On the All Black side winning, they let off the pyros.
