Getting back into Chaotic, to a degree; had the genius idea to draw these two (Aivenna and Nivenna) as kids, because what a better reason to procrastinate on sleep on a weeknight? Some notes on my thought processes for their designs:
Short hair makes sense if the kids are kinda messy (which children are in general), so it's easier to trim and maintain that way. Of course, I imagine the Overworlders would be a little cleaner about it, because appearances do hold some significance for them.
The dresses are based on pretty basic chemises, only designed as outerwear, because they're fairly simple to make, wash, and repair if needed.
Both gowns are hand-me-downs, albeit of different outward quality. Intress got Aivenna's stuff from a friend with a similar body type whose kid got the dress new and just grew out of it, so it's a little newer. I like to imagine that Takinom gave Nivenna her own hand-me-downs, just with the wing holes patched up, because I imagine getting the materials for making new textiles would be kind of hard when you live underground.
And lastly, what the kids are doing. In the game, Aivenna and Nivenna are a Hero and a Muge, respectively, so they went different career routes when they got older. I visualized this with giving Ai a stick to play swords with, and Ni a book to learn about Mugic with.
