Walking the eternal path,I am unknown but to myself,
I died to let others live,
I didn't die for wealth,
Now my body lays,
Looking at the sun,
Buried 'neath the spoils,
Of battles lost and won,
So long ago it seems,
I fell beneath the sky,
Running headlong to my death,
Saying God,
Please don't let me die,
But the past is now too far gone,
And there is no going back,
And though I'm always lost,
I'm always on the path,
So when you come to join me,
Long after victory is won,
Remember what you said to me,
As I tried to hold on,
Though the battle is long,
And though your life seems tough,
There is an angel watching over you,
Sent by God above,
And while I died,
Those thoughts were all I had,
There was nothing you could do for me,
My wounds were far to bad,
So now I walk along,
on this endless path,
Surrounded by those,
Just like me,
Who gave it all they had.
And while we come from different times,
We all died the same,
We died protecting you,
From living a life in vain.
