Description
Item Name: Petticoats of PoofAbilities: Replication, Imprisonment, Clothing Transformation, Mental alterations (zombieism)
Description: The Petticoats of Poof usually remain inactive until they are put on by someone, regardless of gender. This would cause the Petticoats of Poof to lock themselves onto the wearer, preventing them from taking them off. The petticoats would then start to multiply and increase in poofiness, the dome around the wearer's waist growing bigger and bigger without any signs of stopping. The Petticoats of Poof would soon swallow up the wearer, and only then will the petticoats stop multiplying.
In addition, the Petticoats of Poof can infect any human that comes into contact with them, causing petticoats to grow from their waists as well. The effect is similar to a zombie virus: one touch, and you become infected with petticoats.
The only way to free someone from the petticoats is to tear, rip, or slice apart the petticoats with a blade, which would prove rather difficult since the Petticoats of Poof are rather durable.
History:- Henrietta was a novice witch when she made the Petticoats of Poof. She longed to be a princess, as does every little girl. Henrietta could make that happen with a little bit of magic and alchemy. She had a seamstress make the petticoats, and cast a spell on the petticoats to make them as poofy as possible. She may have gone too far since the petticoats consumed her after she put them on.
Days passed, and the petticoats were locked away in a hidden room within the abandoned mansion Henrietta called home. Only rumours of the Petticoats of Poof exist, and no one wanted to prove the rumours true... well, save for an unlikely person.
The epidemic took time to grow out of control, but the government could contain and expunge the infection after some trial and error. The petticoats were ripped to shreds so that no one would be able to become trapped within their poofy folds.
Museum Notes:- One of the Petticoats of Poof was found discarded in a nearby alleyway and was carefully contained before it was returned to the museum.
