Not the most original subject ever but I'm scanning in some of my hand drawn stuff and I was particularly pleased with this one. Tell me what you think and I'll distribute the hugs accordinglyRelated content

Nice start, realize this, to make an object pop out, make the side heavy sides touch black and the light sides touch white, i.e. make the right side of the thumb have a black background moving towards the bottom of the page, you will find that this pushes the hand out more. Adding to the subtle shadows on the hand itself and completing the composition as a whole.
