Smile, the meaning is supposed to convey the fakeness of capitalism and the real laugher of those more impoverished and hard-done by than we are. It's a strange thing but you see people with nothing, and the heartbreak that has gone on in their lives and yet they can show real generosity and a real smile wheras people who apparently have it all come accross as cheap and fake and ungrateful and I doubt could really smile even if they wanted to.Anyway, thoughts?

I think the cause is environmental. If the village has nothing, no one has more than you. In countries where you range from poverty to limitless wealth, there's a better opportunity for envy to breed. If it's not wealth, it's beauty, privacy, popularity, etc. If you appear to be better off than your social circle, you get it through the media. There's always something more for you to want and a media to criticize you for not having it. No wonder we fail to smile.
Personally, I try to be a positive person. Art and music allow me to release negativity constructively.
