Description A photo of my younger sister and the outside of a train we were travelling in. I'm quite fond of the shot. B&W, lighting & contrast and sepia effects added (I have a pretty crappy camera) after scanning.

I like the contrast between the two sides of the picture, like nature representing light and then inside the human train darkness prevails...it is very nice indeed the face of your sister has like a half-light (natural) side and another one that is human, like the opposition between logic and imagination, the two sides of the brain...ok I may be going too far there but that's how I feel.

I like as well the framing you used for the picture, it is very rare these days to see someone crop a shot like that without taking away it's beautifulness (does that owrd exist? )

By the way, I added you to my DevWatch, wanted to let you know

i like the composition -especially how the diagonal lines along the tops of the trees and the bottom of the window draw your eye towards the girl's face.

I'm adding this to my faves too. It is an incredibly well done photo. One of those shots that allows your imagination to soar. Awesome work

This is a great photo.
Fuck all the technical criticisms. This is very emotional, very well composed, cropped and framed. I think it can be sufficient.
And this one is also my new favorite.

Yeah, I did darken the image a little. With a bit more time I could have probably selectively darkened parts but at college on psp7 blah, I didn't fancy it. Without adjustment the inside was a bit dominating over the outside. The darkness works fairly well in the end I think, Perhaps I'll upload the original photo sometime or something.

thank you so much for the comments people.

I agree with Markus71... I like that the girls face is being swallowed up by the shadows... gives a sad mood around it... very nice photo!

It's a little unsharp, but still a very nice pic. Personally, I like the deep shadow. I love the diffused light you get inside trains.

I agree, it's a nice photo, but I think the girl's face is being swallowed up by the darkness a little too much. But then I guess it wouldn't be as good if you could see the seating so I dunno...
