Description
Hooray basic cut & paste job of screenshots taken in NR2003 (and forgetting to turn off the "recommended line" for the new driver profile I made in order to do this quicklyAnd hooray for quickly typed artist comments, because now that I finally have some free time, I don't want to spend a ton of time typing here (especially since I have a drawing idea I want to get to tonight).
Top car: Number 27, this is one of the two cars running full time in my personal offline NR2003 season as teammates of my own car. This scheme is based off of the #2 Chevrolet Chevelle Bobby Allison drove at some point in the late 60s. Sponsor listed on the side is Deichman-Walker Chevrolet, which is a Chevy dealer that's literally about a 5 minute drive away from where I live (did this because Avenger did something similar to that on his Marcis-scheme car).
Middle Car: Number 90, this is the other car running as a teammate car to myself in my offline NR2003 season. This is based off of the #9 Pontiac Roy Tyner drove in the late 60s as an independant driver. It's made even more perfect because of the recent "Throwback" promotion Pepsi has going on now (and both the Pepsi-Cola Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback sodas really taste great), so I just stuck with the same Pepsi-Cola logos and what-have-you that were on the original car, with this scheme (though I added one to the hood, just to give more sponsor exposure
Bottom Car: Number 95, this would be the car I'll be driving. This is based on the old Smokey Yunick cars from the 60's, especially so the #13 Curtis Turner driven Chevy Chevelle that's famous for being the "7/8ths Chevelle". And wow that metallic layer makes that gold color look awesome.
Anyways, thousands of thanks to nascarstones for bringing back to my attention the fact that Smokey Yunick did in fact use GM cars for his team, through most of the 60's (when I couldn't think of any GM teams to counter Avenger's retro schemes for Fords and Dodges); and looking for more pics of the Yunick cars brought me to a site that had those other cars on it.
