Turkish Alternative Rock Band Gren's MySpace Layout Released

In early 00s four musicians playing in different bands in an Istanbul music community came together to form gren and write songs in English. Their songs were in the alternative-progressive metal realm, four of which they recorded as a demo. One of those songs, “Horizon”, made gren one of the 11 finalists in the NokiaSupersound song contest amongst nearly 500 candidates. This success landed the band a live appearance at the very popular TV show Televizyon Makinası. In 2006, the band decided to write in their native language, and the versatile bass player Murat Çopur joined its current line-up. Signing a management and recording contract with RAKUN in 2007, gren earned slots at some major festivals such as RADARLIVE, Masstival and Zeytinli Rock, and the next year at Masstival and Zeytinli Rock again, as well as BarışaRock. Gren’s infectious live performances display a great measure of its members’ skilled musicianship, where they fill the stage with their hard-hit drumming, solid rhythmic foundation, thrashing guitars, and cathartic vocals.
