Description WITCHES, WARLOCKS, PAGANS, MEDIUMS, TRICKSTERS, & 'OTHERS'... WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?!?

Even among the very field of these occult practitioners, many do not know the difference themselves.

So let's take a look at who is who, what they do, and what they are NOT.

WITCHES: Witches are women or men that practice a craft based on nature and the crafting of spells to either help or harm, themselves and their community.

These are often gathered in covens, where they share and refine spells and 'magiks'.

The reason for being in a coven, is to share and refine spells, then pass on this knowledge to "witchlings", as they grow older.

They can most commonly be self-labeled as Eclectic, Green, White, Grey, or rarely Black witches.

Each of these cites a particular doctrine of their craftian naturism.

Their crafts often include the collections of crystals, knowledge of herbology, and natural remedies, and the written manifestations of a spell book, or "Grimoire".

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: Witches are NEVER satanists.

They do NOT worship any pagan gods, but instead see "mother nature" as the metaphorical Goddess - they do however revere certain occult saints, such as Hecate, the Virgin de Guadalupe, or others.

WARLOCKS: Warlocks, or Vryloks in Romanian and Wallachian, are men, or women, that practice real-time magic, based NOT in superstition or lore, but science, alchemy, metaphysics, psychology, and especially epistemology.

Their crafts include opening other dimensions, reconfiguring the mind and perceptions, "bending reality" via the manipulation of people and circumstances, and casting mental illusions.

Warlocks are "locustcian" meaning like a locust - this means as grasshoppers can turn into an aggressive locus form, Warlocks often go back and forth from peaceful to violent.

This is because Warlocks often go into "Strigoian" mode, which is a temporary stage, where they hunt and pacify other occultists that are deemed harmful to communities.

This fact makes Warlocks the most dangerous of the occult factions, but the most rare.

Because of this, they are often symbolized with a king snake symbol, which occultists often create as a question-mark-shaped snake, eating another snake.

In New Orleans, Haiti, and Africa, this symbol is used to warn of a Wallachian Warlock's presence, since Warlock's regularly "eat" Voodoo Hosheys, Palo preists, Santeros, and other occult folks to "digest" their magic through mental alchemy and "spiritual ingestion."

They keep their metaphysical and alchemic secrets in a "compendium occultus".

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: Contrary to popular belief, Warlocks are NOT wizards that broke an oath to goodness.

The term "Oath Breakers" comes from the 1970s Dungeon and Dragons game, which some how real factions such as Wiccans, adopted as their lore, yet this is an absolutely false Warlock definition.

PAGANS: Pagans are selective groups that worship certain deities.

These deities can be any number of Earthen, Celestial, Ultra-dimensional, Gods, Saints, Martyrs, Demons, or Angels.

Common Pagan cults include Neo-druids, Neo-Paganists, "The Friends of Nature", Neo-Mayans, Viking Spiritualists, Roman Modernists, The Dreamtime Aboriginals, and Native American Shamen.

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: They are not modern cultists, such as Branch Dividians, Hare Krishna's, Moonies, or the like.

MEDIUMS: Mediums are people that channel occult energies to be used in communication with the dead.

This comes in the form of subliminal etchings, real séances, mental telepathy, dream interpretations, the "throwing of bones" and the "boiling of wax".

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: Unfortunately these REAL occultists, are very often confused with "Tricksters" which are just scammers.

TRICKSTERS: Tricksters are simply semi-talented scammers that use the title of the occult to fool people in order to make money.

These are people that break the number one rule of the occult; -- they make a BUSINESS out of the occult.

They are common practitioners of "watered-down" paranormal practices, such as tarot card reading, palm reading, crystal-ball gazing, and horoscope.

They can be easily differentiated from REAL occultist by their money grubbing, and conartists tactics.

This includes a pre-written "pitch", where they will send a message to people, telling them they need a "free-reading", often using sparse psychological tactics in their scamming, such as calling their would-be clients, "Beloved", "Beautiful", or "Dear".

These people are particularly despicable to real occultists AND the dead; as they are despised for using the occult titles for taking advantage of many poor mourning people that lost loved ones.

For this, they never stay in business for too long, as they eventually become prey to REAL Witches and Warlocks that regularly torment them into leaving the occult, or sometimes they are just simply killed.

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: They are NOT real Witches, Warlocks, Pagans, or Occultists.

They are simply conartists and scammers.

Popular ones, include Miss Cleo, Raven SilverClaw, and Wendy the Witch.

All of these were "pacified" or killed by REAL Witches and Warlocks.

SANTEROS: These are people that practice the sub-religion Santeria.

Santeria is a mix of Catholicism, Caribbean Voodoo, and Aztec/Olmec magic and paganism.

They often revere the Virgin de Guadalupe, and Santa Muerte.

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: There are many false "Santeros" that simply call themselves "Brujos" in tourist towns...these are NOT them.

WICANS: Wiccans, contrary to belief, are NOT Old World witches, though some claim they.

Wiccans are a modern group of witches that follow the doctrines of a man and it's creator -- Gerald Gardner.

This was also bolstered later by Ray Buckland.

Wiccans are a rehashing of many beliefs and practices of Old World witches, without the more serious oath that often consumes the lives of the ancient witch lineages.

Wiccan are probably the most SAFE version of witchery that spread its practice along many general witch hobbies, and is a safe way to learn about the occult and nature, via witch-like activities, such as the neo-practices of crystal collecting and Sygil making.

Wicca/Wiccan straddles the line of being a hobby and lifestyle, with no real danger of hurting yourself or others, as is so common in Old World witchery.

WHAT THEY RE NOT: Wiccans are real witches that practice a safer, modern form of witchcraft that focuses on lore and supernatural beliefs.

They are NOT Old World witches that can often be dangerous, such as the Hargoths, Wikkani, Beldorians, or Vlach Babas.

They are also NOT scammers, which unfortunately, often use the title of Wicca/Wiccan to con people.

PALOS: Palos are people that practice Palo Muyumbe, an African descended form of quasi voodoo that focuses on conjuring demons to do their will, or dirty work.

They are also quite musical, having many rituals that depend of drums and string instruments.

There are also Palos that practice "Spirit Entrapments".

This is an aggressive occult practice, that specializes in harmful spells and has a Haitian and Latin variety that often mixes the ideologies of those territories where they practice.

Because they're often viewed as people that torment others, they are often pacified or killed by "Angelics" (people who act as angels) or Warlocks.

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: Palos are NOT Voodoo or Hoodoo men, although they are very often confused with each other.

VOODOO PREISTS/HOSHEYS: Voodoo is a 15 century practice often mistaken to be older, based on their worship or reverence of elder African Gods.

Voodoo has a direct tie to African and Haitian heritage, as it was a major component to advocate the freedom of African oriented slaves.

Surprisingly, Voodoo has a great amount of Catholicism and Christian themes, with some of their occult community considering themselves Christians, in places like New Orleans, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Cuba.

There is an older version, which focuses on curses and the creation of "zombies" through paranormal hypnosis and alchemic curses.

And there is a new version, which focuses more heavily in healings and spiritual contacts.

In Africa, some are seen as heroes, as they often curse Nigerian scammers, or advice political figures to sponsor impoverished communities.

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: Voodoo, priests and priestesses are NOT always black, many are Creole or Latin and speak French or Spanish.

They are not satanists, or have any relationship that ties them to the devil.

SATANISTS: Satanists are comprised of three groups, the Old World satanists called the "luciferians" that believe he was a rightful heir to the earth, in some form, and as the former "bringer of light", as his name suggests.

As well as one of God's former and most trusted angels.

The 2nd version is the modern variety that are actually atheists that are built of Anton Levy and some Alistair Crowley lore, but basically uses the image of Satan as a rebellious symbol against religious society.

Most do not believe in God or Satan, and actually have quite an influence from ancient Egyptian lore.

The 3rd version are Satanic hobbyists, those that are inducted via Death Metal bands and such that often indoctrinate their fans into Pseudo-Satanism - the practice of promoting false satanic lore, often in comic-book-like imagery and devoid of true satanic teachings.

These satan hobbyists are often targeted and killed by Old World Satanists that hate Rock N Roll and are embarrassed by the modern versions, to which they feel desecrate their much older religion.

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: They are not Wizards or Warlocks, despite some similarity in rituals.

ASTROLOGISTS: These are people practicing astrology, which is set in 2 forms, real astrology, based on ancient astronomy from the Greeks, Mayans, and Druids, and false astrology based on modern Horoscope rituals.

These people often become quite famous in news papers and web magazines, posting astrological predictions that include everything from love life trends, to political careers.

It is the most popular occult practice for the rich and political.

WHAT THEY ARE NOT: They are NOT astronomers, which are often confused with astrologists.

Astronomers practice a science of celestial planetary knowledge, astrologers practice lore and trends of celestial beings, such as stars and planets based in folklore.

IMPORTANT REMARKS & ADVICE: The occult world is full of REAL dangers.

These dangers manifest in physical, mental, and spiritual forms.

People in general should NOT practice the occult unless "God has called you to it."

There are MANY occult factions in war with each other, and injuries and death are common among these genres.

Also the practice of these crafts often attract spirits, extra-dimensional entities, and sometimes, just plain human stalkers to your life.

The life of a Necromancer, as cliché as that sounds, is often plagued with hardships, prejudices, mental problems, and inherit illnesses.

And most TRUE occultists cannot socialize well, and live fairly lonely, misunderstood lives.

...And MOST real longtime occultist die YOUNG!

This is due to the dedication they have in serving the communities in need, which very often puts them in dire danger of violence or illness.

Unless being protected by God, and supported by a family of cultic guardians, one can expect a very tough life.

Please DON'T get into the occult, unless its absolutely unavoidable...

After all, the word "occult" means "Hidden or Unseen" for a reason!
