Story inspired by Brave and the Bold #28 the first appearance of the Justice League of America, but is technically the 2nd villain the League faced after the Appellaxians as stated in Justice League of America #9.

I wanted to give a horror movie vibe to the first time the League takes on Starro. With everyone the conqueror takes over they get like a zombie like appearance but still retaining all their knowledge and abilities they possessed notmally.
With the combine will of every being under Starro's control he can overpower a Green Lantern. With a Leaguer in his thrall he knows the location of the Batcave. Overcome Wonder woman's lasso of truth, convert Martian Manhunter into one of his spores.
With the worlds most powerful heroes unable to resist the mighty conqueror, the world is truely doomed.

GREEN LANTERN:
Hal Jordan is the first to encounter Starro when he enters his sector of 2814, and attempts to crush the Lantern inside his on bubble shield until it cracks and he becomes his first victim.

Starro feeds on the mental energy of every living thing it possesses. when it is close to death he scouts for a new planet to feed on and begins anew.

ART: The armor of the Green Lantern corp is considered the most powerful weapon in the universe, able to create anything the wearer can imagination and only ss strong as their will allows. So it should be pretty sturdy stuff as only the best are selected and for something to make it through a Lantern's shield?
What kind of force in the universe can do that?
Comic fans know someone punching through a Lantern's constructs is a standard thing, but in my take on the DC universe a GL can go toe to toe with a kryptonian no problem, and thus raising the threat level of Starro as well.
