last time Superman fought General Zod the Phantom zone prisoner only had a quarter of his full strength under a yellow sun and Clark was just a boy and it resulted in the death of Pa Kent

But now...Zod is back! Leading the people of Argo city in taking over the planet Almerac home of Queen Maxima and surrounding planets. The space cabbie has led her to Earth to seek out Superman and enlist his help leading to the man of steel to recruit allies both new and old and take on the growing new Kryptonian empire.

From left to right:
DEV-EM: helped Superman defeat Zod back in Smallville back when they were kids. Placed himself in the phantom zone whem he learned of its inpending doom. Ended up staying in the future not wanting to deal with the hardships Clark had to deal with in that time period.
AMBUSH BUG: While technically an enemy of Superman as far as the man of steel is concerned. Ambush wants to prove he has turned over a new leaf after witnessing the Doom Patrol's death he is essential to helping stop Non when he came to earth searching for Maxima by teleporting him off Earth and far away. Seemingly can't die, even when in deep space
LADY MAXIMA: When Argo crashed landed on Almerac that was a signal of War. The Argoians not equipped for combat opened the Phantom zone prison and recruited Zod and his forces to save them. Under Almerac's yellow sun they grew in strength and took over the planet, and only grew their ambitions from there, raping her people to regrow their numbers
MAN OF VALOR: Lar Gand is the adoptive older Brother of Clark Kent also from krypton. Originally the rest pilot of the first rocket to Earth but his phantom drive rocket resulted in him stuck in the Phantom zone for years. He lived with the Kents for quite some time until they were forced to go to the future where he fell in love with the technology and decided to stay. Returns with Dev-Em to help combat Zod's empire. While the crest on his chest stands for house of Gand Pa Kent named him Valor a name he has kept since then
SUPERMAN: At this point in his career Clark could use a space vacation. Lois broke up with him due to him keeping his Clark Kent identity a secret lying to her for years, fired from the Daily Planet when it is boughtout by Galaxy news broadcasting and a sand creature from another universe has been draining his powers. Clark doesn't know 100% how he intends to deal with Zod but the reminder that this is the man who killed his father still burns in his heart and as a Kryptonian it is his place to stop him.
VARTOX: came to Earth searching for his wife's murderer, who killed her when he killed her twin. He came to blows with the man of steel over how to handle the murderer but Superman was able to talk him down and the two became friends and allies. Vartox is from the Sombro Ha galaxy and is at least 100 years old. Calls himself a hyper man if Clark is a Superman far stronger, faster and powerful then he is, and a hero in his own right, when Superman called for his aid he answers without question
SUPERWOMAN: Luma Lynai is from the planet Staryl. She us genetically modified to have super strength as a super trooper for her planet. She she saves Superman during his fight with Lobo and the two develop an attraction for each other however when she tries to go to Earth the yellow sun makes her sick
CERITAK: born in one of the bottled cities Cerimul on board the collector of world's ship he eventually escaped during Superman's battle against the collector. He manages to make a new life for himself in a small village in the Arctic with a young blind woman named Ashley Armstrong. While unable to communicate with people at first he is named Scorn and even clashes with Superman but proves himself when the terrorist group Skull attack metropolis. When Superman recruits to help deal with Zod Ceritak agrees to assist.
CAPTAIN HORITO STRONG: originally a roommate of Clark Kent who helped him kick his addiction to his strength giving alien seaweed, hence how he found out he is Superman. He is bibbo bibbowski's husband. When he learns Clark is heading into space to fight kryptonians Horito wanting to test his strength without his alien seaweed sauncha against both Bibbo and Clark's wishes
GREEN LANTERN: Hal Jordan when he first recieve his armor defeating Thul-Kar and Legion. He elects himself to go help Superman leaving John Stewart the green lantern of earth.
BRAINIAC 2: Vril Dox is the son of the collector of world's and hid on the ship for quite some time after his father's defeat. He is to help Superman develop a none violent means to defeat Zod and creates the biological weapon Dexamite making anyone infected allergic to lead. His time among the others helps develop his snarky, superior attitude
