On a cargo plane above Europe, honorable Shinobi Yoshi Hamato of the Hamato Clan was fighting against the Japanese criminal organization known as the Foot Clan and their leader, the Shredder. They have stolen an ancient artifact from the Hamato Clan, said to hold ancient mystical energies, known as the Hamato Stone. Yoshi snuck into the big cargo plane using his master ninjutsu skills, engaged the foot ninja, and was about to take the stone, but the Shredder was there, and he was taking no prisoners. Their fighting led them to the top of the plane, with Yoshi with the stone at hand. As the fighting was coming to an end with Yoshi’s victory, Shredder decided that if he can’t have the stone, no one will, and destroyed it. That caused the energies within the stone to split into four and scattered all over Europe, and it also caused the plane to break down. One year after the ordeal, the Hamato clan set out to find the energies before the Foot and found out the energies were given to four boys from different parts of Europe. For their safety, and possibly the safety of the planet, they were relocated to a Hamato Compound in New York City to hide from the Foot and those wanting to use the power for themselves and to be trained in the Ninja Arts of the Hamato to hone and control their new powers.
