I sighed, looking down, but not before you saw a hurt look in my eyes. "...I know that look...you're scared of me...you think all demons are bad, all demons are evil...not all of us..." I whimpered as a few tears leaked down my face. "...some of us are good...I'm good...I'm not an evil demon...I won't hurt you..." I sighed again, shoulders slumping. "...you probably don't understand a word I'm saying..."

I could see he's tears and i felt bad for seeing him as a cruel monster i uncurled and went to hugg your thumb
I was still afraid of you but less then the first time

I looked up a bit, surprised to see the human hugging my thumb, blinking in confusion as I used my free hand to wipe away the tears. "What...?" I asked, confused, having never gotten a hug before

I continued my embrace on your thumb trying to apologize for judging him because of he's special features
Since i was still a bit scared i couldn't speak English so i said " je suis desoler monsieur "

I brought my hand closer to me, gently holding the human to my chest, unsure what to think of the hug, but while most legends said evil demons had no hearts, therefore, no heartbeats, you could hear the faint thud of my heart. I smiled softly when you apologized, bending my head to nuzzle you. "You don't have to apologize...and my name is Ethan...if you can understand me, can you please tell me yours?"

I was surprised to hear a heartbeat from a creature supposed to be heartless i was even more surprised when he nuzzle me
I then answered "m mm mon nom est Samuel monsieur Ethan "

Only bad demons were ones without hearts...the good demons did have a heartbeat, slower than a human's of course, but they still had one. I kept the nuzzle nice and gentle, trying to make him feel better as I smiled. "Samuel, huh? It's nice to meet you...and you don't have to say mister...you're making me sound old." I teased playfully about that last part, but I really didn't want him to call me mister

As i was a bit scared of how he would react because i was about to call him mister again

I chuckled, nuzzling him. "It's quite alright...although I do wish you'd stop apologizing as well...you don't have to." I said softly, stroking your back gently. "If anything...if you want, maybe I...maybe I could be your friend..."

"Oh...so you don't know where you're from?" I asked, tilting my head before suddenly stiffening, clutching you to my chest as I ducked. A moment later, a large redheaded demon crashed into a tree I had been standing in front of, crying out in pain as one of his horns was stuck DEEP into the bark, and I quickly whirled around. "Cassidy! Oh, gods, let me help you." I said, reaching forward with my free hand, grabbing the demon's horn firmly as I tried to help him pull it out

I then ask " va t il bien " i worried but at the same time afraid of him

"Yeah, Samuel...he'll be fine..." I said, then there was a loud crack as the demon's horn broke and he fell back, only having one and a half horns now, the other half still in the tree trunk

I worried even more when i heard he's horn break having a look of concernon my face

The redheaded demon winced, placing a hand on his horn before sighing, then smiled a bit. "Well, it'll grow back soon...no permanent damage done..." I relaxed, grinning. "That's good...oh, by the way Cassidy, this is my new friend Samuel." The redhead looked at you, then smiled a bit. "Hello Samuel..."

i back up a bit in fear but still wave my hand to greet him

The redhead smiled softly, trying to look friendly. "Hey...it's okay...I'm a good demon..." He said, reaching toward you before looking at me. "May I...?" I shrugged. "It's up to Samuel...if he lets you hold him, you can...if not, don't force him..."

Part of me wanted to let him hold me the other wanted to stay close to Ethan
After a few seconds of thinking i decided to let him hold me since Ethan wasn't to far
I took a step forward and just waited for him to pick me up i still hade a look of fear on my face

Cassidy brightened, the demon taking the step forward as permission for him to pick you up so he reached forward, grabbing you gently before bringing you closer to himself, cupping his hands around you as he held his hands to his chest, his heart beating somewhere inside to prove he was a good demon. "Heh~ You're kinda cute..." He said happily as he bent his head, nuzzling you gently, careful not to harm you as he tried to be friendly

The demon purred softly, nuzzling you, then pulled back, smiling in amusement when he saw he'd messed up your hair. "Your hair's a little...actually, I'll get it..." He leaned forward, using the tip of his tongue to gently lick your hair so it looked normal again, smiling happily

I started to blush out of embarrassment not only because of my messed up hair but because he lick it to put it normal

He whimpered, smelling the scent of fear coming off of the human. "I...I'll try...I can't promise, though...I do things without thinking sometimes...but I promise, there's no need for you to be frightened..."

"Thank you..." Cassidy said softly, then looked concerned. "Are you okay?" He asked, then nodded when he asked about something to eat. "There's a bunch of fruit trees only a few miles from here...would you like me to take you?" The redheaded demon asked softly

I hesitate not knowing how im supposed to eat the giant fruit in front of me now holding my head with both hands

Cassidy realized the situation, then sliced a small section off as big as your head before he offered the piece. "Here...this will be better...please eat..."

The moment he offered the apple piece i quickly grabbed it then eat it in seconds not really appreciating the tast of fruit i preferred meat

Cassidy smiled a bit, then suddenly stiffened, sniffing the air as he growled. "Samuel...don't freak out...and I promise I won't harm you...just...don't be scared..." He said before shoving the human into his mouth as a roar came from somewhere nearby

At start i wondered what he meant by that the moment he shoved me in he's mouth i screamed out of fear as i land on he's tongue

Cassidy whimpered, pinning you down lightly as he hissed as a T-Rex entered the clearing, then the demon swiped at the dinosaur, growling as he knew shoving the human in his mouth was the only way to get him out of harm's way fast enough as the demon backed up to get away from the dinosaur

i started to squirm from him pinning me down trying to get out of he's hold on me not knowing what is going on outside of he's mouth

Cassidy whimpered at feeling you trying to escape, trying to comfort you by letting out a growling purr as he still glared at the dinosaur, then turned and ran away before the dinosaur could attack

My struggle died down as i knew i couldn't get out and then decides to just wait for something to happen crying as i thought my freind betrayed me

You thought that the demon had...betrayed you? Never! Cassidy would never betray a friend. The moment he was far enough from the dinosaur he panted, then gently spit you out into his palm, trying to calm you. "Hey...hey...Samuel, it's okay...it's okay...I'm sorry, but I...I HAD to do that...I had to protect you..."
