The thing tried to move, but fell off of your dresser, grunting when the strings that tangled around it were caught on a knob, and the thing struggled to get free, the strings tightining to the point that it was painful and the thing yelped "Ow!"

I very slowly roll over, keeping my eyes clothes so not to scare away what ever it was. When I was facing my dresser, I crack open an eye to look.

You saw a three-inch-tall boy bundled in the strings, and he struggled to get free, the strings tightening around him

"Oh no!" I gasp, leaping out of bed and rush to his side, "Oh dear, hold still! I'll have you out in a second."

I went completely still, scared of you. I started shaking

"Shhh now little one," I whisper, trying to untangle you as fast as I can, "There's nothing to fear. I'll have you untangled soon and you'll be fear to go on your merry way."

Slowly but surely I managed to get the strings untangled enough that I could gently pull you free of them. "There," I smile gently as I set you back on the dresser, "All done."

I whimpered, still scared of you, and you noticed what looked like a grey sting wrapped around my leg

"Hm?" I blink, staring at the string, "Hey, what's that string around your leg for little one?"

"String?" I looked, then laughed a bit. "It's no string..."

"Really? Then what is it?" I asked, bringing my face down low enough to look right at you.

I unwound it from my leg, and it twitched a bit. "It's my tail."

"A tail?" I blink, before realizing something, "Um...I have a question."

"Are you the one that keeps tangling up my necklaces and string that I put up here?"

"...yes...you're not mad, are you?"

"Not really," I shake my head, "I was getting really confused because I made sure to lay them out perfectly every night. It was actually starting to get me nervous about it..."

"Don't worry about it," I laugh a little, "Though I am quite curious as to why you would continually tangle them up."

"Because I get bored, and anything else I'd try to do would most likely wake you up."

"Bored?" I asked, "How come you are bored? What, are you here all by yourself?"

"Aww, you poor, poor little thing," I whimper. I stay silent for a moment before smiling warmly at you, "Say, would you like to be my friend little one?"

"How'd you like to be my friend?" I ask again, "I-I'm very good at crafts so I could like make you a little home up here and we could play whenever you wanted to."

"Yes," I smile, sticking out my pinky towards you, "I'll even pinky promise you."

"What's a pinky promise?"

I blink before laughing slightly, "It's a sacred promise made on crossed pinky fingers that can never be broken. It is one strongest vows a person can make."

"Really," I nod, still holding out my pinky.

"Well, at least allow me to make you some toys so you won't be so bored anymore."

I stare at you, "What are toys? Toys are the creation of someone elses imagination that becomes a link to your own which can allow you to play countless games and make-belief and all sorts of other things~!"

I laugh a little before grabbing a piece of a string, "Well, let's put it this way. A toy can be anything so long as you have fun with it. You see, you've been having fun with this string so it is a toy to you. But a toy can be many things. This string to you could become anything you wanted it to be. A jump rope," I pinch the string between two fingers and spin it around like a jump rope, "or a snake," I drag the string along the dresser in a way to make it look like one, "Or anything else your heart desires it to be."

"But there are many other toys~!" I smile, looking around, "Let's see. What's your size of one...Ah~! Here!" I pick up a tiny bouncy ball, though it was still pretty big for you, "Like this ball. You can bounce it like so," I bounce it off the floor, "Or play wall bounce," I then bounce it off several walls of my room, "Or even play make belief with it where it can be like a circus act where you are trying to balance on it." I place two fingers on it and pretend to almost lose my balance one the ball.

"It's a place where a lot of people go to watch others put on a cool show with a lot of silly and amazing acts."

I laugh a little before looking around, "It might be better to show you." I pull out a giant ball from the corner and hop on top of it, "They do acts like this~!" I roll around for a moment before jumping and landing back on it with my hands this time. My back bends over me in a perfect arc for a moment and as it straightens back up, I lose my balance and fall onto the ground, "Ow...well, without the falling part..."

I covered my mouth with both my hands, trying not to laugh

I smile up at you, "Go ahead, laugh. That's why people go to the circus. To laugh."

I shook my head, and once my urge to laugh faded, I pulled my hands away

"Aww," I slowly stand back up, popping my back, "I wanted to hear you laugh."

I snickered a bit when you had to pop your back

"Can't believe I used to do this kind of stuff just a couple of years ago," I grumble, "I feel so old now."
