Any time I think something will be quick and easy it usually turns into a week long pain in the ass lol. Scorn was made with 100% Marvel Legends Tigershark, some apoxie sculpt, paint, and lots of hate. LOTS OF HATE.Despite all the stuff that needed to be sculpted, it wasn't hard to make the custom. The worst part is all the waiting for apoxie sculpt to cure so you can keep working. Then there's painting, omg, I hate Americana paint so much now, cant even airbrush it, it just clogs the brush. Then I airbrushed some Folk Art orange and it also kept clogging the airbrush, even though I've used it with no problems before. And I cant even just buy pre-thinned airbrush paint because that stuff needs to be baked to harden, what the hell? It's 2015 and we as a species still can't think of a way to make durable paint that cures on its own? We put men on the moon! Why can't we create paint that just frikkin' works!
Who is Scorn? He's a character that popped up in the Superman comics around the time there were those electric Blue and Red Supes. He escaped from the miniaturized city of Kandor, pummeled Superman, made sweet love to a blind chick, then later helped Superman fight some dinosaurs or something. The '90s were great!
•Sculpted the vest, horns, hair, etc.
•Basecoated the torso with vinyl dye so there's no paint rub at the neck and shoulders.
•Used Formula P3 Paints, they're fantastic for hand painting, but not any more durable than all the other stuff out there.
•Highlighted the black skin with blue to mimic the way he looks in the comics, I think it turned out schway.
•Sanded the joints so he's safe to pose for the most part.
I chose to make Scorn on a whim, he looks ridiculous, but cool. Please post suggestions to make other weird characters that have never been made before! Will be selling him later on evil-bay to make money to buy more supplies, have to take better pictures first.
