Description
Gyuuki Monokai (牛鬼物怪 Gyūki Monokai) is a demon ox who masters the Earth Style Kaijutsu (土遁の怪術 Doton no Kaijutsu, lit. Earth Style Monster Arts).

Background
During a Spirit Battle match, Gyuuki possesses a strong user, challenging many players who stands in his way and declared as a victor. It was a tough battle between him and Zeimaru, but he defeats Gyuuki with the Mind Monkey Spin.

Powers & Abilities
Possession: Monokai possesses inside of people in order to regain their physical bodies, by fusing with the Kaimalet that the person held.
Earth Style Kaijutsu: The Monokai who mastered this Kaijutsu can perform earth-based attacks.
Spider Mode: Gyuuki can change the form of a giant spider.

Etymology
- The name "Monokai" comes from "mononoke" (物の怪), a Japanese spirits that according to the literature were said to do things like possess individuals and make them suffer, cause disease, or even cause death.
