Chapter Two
      The winner's decision

Voice: Joey! Joey! It is time for your next class! Please wake up Joey!

Lazily, Joey rolls over and continues sleeping.

Voice: Scanning...

A large light quickly sweeps the room then fades.

Voice: Commencing with phase two of alarm.

A screen slowly drops from the ceiling and a dial tone begins ringing.

Female: Ah, well good morning Jo-

The caller then pauses and looks at Joey, who is still sleeping.

Female: Joey! Wake up lazy bones! Class starts on half an hour!

Joey quickly sits up and looks around the room then at the screen.

Joey: Ah crap! I overslept! Thanks Sabrina!

Sabrina: Hurry up and get dressed.

Joey: Yeah your...are you trying to peek at me while I'm half asleep?

Joey looks directly towards the screen into Sabrina's eyes.

Sabrina: O-of course not! Be sure you get the items on the school
list. You're good for forgetting it.

Sabrina hangs up slightly blushing.

Joey: Was she blushing? Am I revealing? Boy I'm hungry.

Joey snatches the sheets off himself and takes a quick shower. He then
rushes into his room and changes.

Joey: Tsubaki?

Voice: Sir?

Joey: Can you prepare my usual breakfast?

Voice: To go sir?

Joey: Yes, please.

Voice: Processing request.

Joey then pauses and looks at his alarm clock.

Joey: Shoot. About twenty minutes. Where did I place those materials?

Joey then looks towards the front door.

Joey: Ah there it is.

Voice: Joey dear?

Joey: Dear? Uh I'm on the way Tsubaki!

A young female walks into his room and hands him a bag.

Joey: Ah, thanks. I see you're using your mobile body Tsubaki.

Tsubaki: Yes sir. It's rather hard to walk at times but I'm getting
used to it.

Joey: Making progress. Very nice.

Joey then looks towards his clock.

Joey: Crap I'm going to be late! Um well I'm off Tsubaki.

Tsubaki: J-Joey!

Joey: Yes, Tsubaki?

Tsubaki: M-may I go to the university with you for today to recharge
my mobile body. This will also give me the chance to learn to walk
more effectively.

Joey: S-sure. Let's get going then.

Tsubaki gives a warm smile and nods. They then leave the room, enter
his car and drives off. Tsubaki is later seen glancing out of the
window.

Joey: This isn't your first time out the house is it?

Tsubaki: Actually it is sir.

Joey: You really don't need to call me sir.

Tsubaki takes her view away from the environment and looks at Joey.

Tsubaki: Then what shall I call you master?

Joey slightly blushes at Tsubaki but quickly fades.

Joey: Just call me Joey. Everything else is too formal.

Tsubaki: But I was told only use that name for your alarm?

Joey: Being my P.A. is enough. Joey is a more suitable name.

Tsubaki: Understood. Creating personal profile.

Tsubaki's eyes flash multiple colors then return to their original red
color.

Tsubaki: Data complete. Anything else Joey?

Joey: No, that's all for now.

Joey slows down at a stop light and looks towards Tsubaki. Tsubaki
then looks at him and smiles.

Joey: So what made you wear your new kimono?

Tsubaki: You bought it for me a while back while my body was being
created. I've been wanting to wear it but wasn't able to walk until
recently the days you were free to teach me.

Joey: Oh? Well it looks nice on you.

Tsubaki slowly blushes and turns away.

Tsubaki: T-thank you Joey.

Joey: You're welcome.

Joey turn pulls off when the light turned green.

Joey: You know, I never thought you had the ability to blush being
part computer and part android.

Tsubaki: There are so many things I'd like to do if I wasn't a
computer or an android.

Joey pulls into the school and parks in his assigned place.

Joey: You mean you would like to be human?

Tsubaki: Y-yes.

Joey: Care to explain why?

Tsubaki: A-are you upset Joey?

Joey: Hmm? Not at all. I'm interested in your thoughts.

Tsubaki smiles and takes a deep breath.

Tsubaki: Well I've been reviewing your television set for a while
watching the events humans do. Events like eating at nice restaurants,
enjoying the company of friends, and the ability to create smaller
humans that cries for various reasons. As a machine I can not do such
events because food will short circuit my system, I need to recharge
by either sun light or battery, and I do not possess the ability to
bare children.

Joey: You've really taken some thought into the matter. I'm impressed.

Tsubaki: Other reasons are I dislike being alone without having
attention like I do during the summer when you're off school. I want
to be able to understand exactly who my owner is and spend time with
him. I've yet to...

Joey: Tsubaki?

Tsubaki: I'm sorry. You have a call from Sabrina. Shall I patch her
through?

Joey: Sure.

Tsubaki's eyes turn white as the call switches over.

Sabrina: Joey?

Joey: Yes, Sabrina? What's up?

Sabrina: Just calling to tell you class is starting.

Joey: Aww. All right. I'm on the way in. Later then.

Sabrina: Bye.

Tsubaki's eyes return to their original color. She then looks towards
her lap slightly depressed. Joey places his hand on her shoulder. She
slowly looks at him confused.

Joey: Why don't you come to class with me Tsubaki?

Tsubaki: Is that ok Joey?

Joey: Who can stop you from learning? You can move, think, and react
on your own. I think it's ok for you to come to class with me.

Tsubaki blushes and nods in approval.

Tsubaki: Thank you Joey.

Joey: Sure. Now let's hurry. We don't want to be late.

Joey and Tsubaki leave the car and enter the classroom.

Delta: Eh? So who's the lady Joey? Your lover?

Joey: Attack!

Joey tosses a notepad at Delta which hits his face and lands on a desk
behind him.

Joey: Woot! And that desk is my seat.

Joey then looks towards Delta and points.

Joey: Owned good sir!

Delta stands up and points back at him.

Delta: Objection!

Delta then balls up his fist and strikes Joey in the face knocking him
out the window.

Tsubaki: Joey!

Delta: Oh crap!

Sabrina: That looked painful. Luckily that tree to the target stopped
his fall. And the sudden drop to the fetal position. And the whining.
And-

Tsubaki: How could you do something like that to a dear friend? That
was cruel of you!

Delta: Well I didn't think he'd fall out of an open window on a two
story building. Luckily he's alive.

Tsubaki rushes past Delta and Sabrina pushing them out the way. On her
way out she bumps into another body and falls to the ground. She looks
up towards the figure with tears glistening in her eyes.

Delta: P-professor? You're early today.

P. Strikes: My arrival times are random. Don't watch the clock for it
either. And you miss. Let's help you up.

The professor lends out his hand to help Tsubaki up. She lightly
touches his hand as he pulls her to her feet.

Tsubaki: Uh, thank you. But please excuse me.

Tsubaki quickly leaves the room.

P. Strikes: Who is that girl?

Delta: No clue. She came with Joey this morning.

P. Strikes: And where is Joey? His stuff is here but the body is
missing.

Sabrina: He uh...had a little accident with "Delta Right" this morning.

Delta: Hey! Don't tease that game! It's very entertaining!

The professor looks out the open window and sees Tsubaki helping Joey
up to his feet then up the stairs.

P. Strikes: I guess Joey should be a cat for it's reflexes.

He then looks around the room.

P. Strikes: Ok, class has begun. Sit in your seats and those who have
their materials place them on your desk.

He then unwraps a needle and pulls an unusual liquid into the tube.
The intercom comes on interrupting his train of thoughts.

Intercom: We have a code blue. Teachers gather your students and lock
the room doors. I repeat. Code blue, lock the doors and keep your
students safe.

The professor rushes to the door and closes it. He then mixes the tube
with another substance and stands near the door quietly.

Sabrina: Um...you know Joey and that young lady have not returned yet
right?

P. Strikes: I'm well aware. I'm sure my teammates have retrieved them
and-

The door suddenly swings open as the professor jabs the intruder with
the needle. Two bodies then drop to the floor.

P. Strikes: Ack! Joey! Young lady! This is bad! Delta! Grab Joey and
take him to the health room in the back! I'll take the young lady and
place her with him.

The intercom rings a bell.

Intercom: This concludes the code blue drill. Thank you for your
patience.

Delta: Drill? His luck really isn't good today is it.

Delta grabs Joey by his shoulders and drag his body into the recovery
room. Tsubaki is placed next to Joey and Sabrina enters the room.

Sabrina: So what will happen to him?

P. Strikes: He's just in a deep sleep. I'm about to wake him now.

The professor retrieves a gong and bangs it between Joey and Tsubaki.
Both suddenly wake up startled.

Joey/Tsubaki: W-what happened? And why does my arm hurt-

Joey and Tsubaki look towards each other at the same time suddenly
shocked and confused.

Joey/Tsubaki: Neat. It's almost like we're thinking the same thoughts.
Testing! Do re me fa so la te da! Da te la so fa me re do!

Delta: Ok stop it. That is very annoying.

Joey/Tsubaki: It's not on purpose. Honest. My body can't...handle
this...system shut down.

Joey and Tsubaki fall to the bed unconscious.

P. Strikes: What have I done?
