Chapter Three
      Changes

Joey: What's going on? My body is hurting. I'm rather hot to
be...where am I?

Joey starts looking around. Darkness fills the room leaving it to look
like a dark abyss.

Joey: It's completely dark. No light. No land. No one here. Am I
alone? Have I died already? Darn it! I've yet to fulfill my life as a
young adult. I should have kicked Delta around and bugged Sabrina more.

Voice: Hello?

Joey: W-who's there?

Voice: J-Joey?

Joey: Tsubaki! Where are you?

No response is heard from Tsubaki.

Joey: Tsubaki! Tsubaki! Are you alright?

Tsubaki: Joey! Where are you?

Joey: I'll come to you! Stay where you are! Keep talking so I can head
in your direction!

Joey starts running to Tsubaki.

Joey: Tsubaki!

Tsubaki: Joey!

Joey quickly stops but continues running.

Joey: Your voice is everywhere. How am I to find you?

Tsubaki: Joey! I'm scared...please help me!

Joey: Tsubaki! Where are you?

Joey begins hearing sobs.

Joey: D-don't cry Tsubaki. I'm trying to find you. I just need your
help...I...I can't do this alone.

Joey holds out his hand trying to feel for Tsubaki. He then begins to
feel a soft material. Then a warm sensation fills his hand.

Tsubaki: J-Joey?

A mysterious warmth covers Joey. He falls to the ground unaware of the
reason why he suddenly fell.

Joey: I-is that you Tsubaki?

Joey then touches a warm patch on his chest. A patch of silver
appears. He continues to touch the mysterious silver patch.

Joey: T-subaki!

Joey then wipes his hand revealing Tsubaki's head and shoulders. He
then wipes away her tears as the remainder of her body appears.

Joey: It's alright. You're not alone anymore. You don't need to cry
anymore.

Tsubaki: But where are we? And why is everyone missing?

Joey: I don't l know. I just noticed it all before you called my name
out.

Joey notices Tsubaki's body shaking. He holds her close in an attempt
to soothe her.

Joey: It's ok. I'm here with you. I won't let anything happen to you.

A jolt of pain surges through Joey's body.

Joey: Ack! What the-

Tsubaki: Joey! Someone is trying to separate us!

Joey looks around then back at Tsubaki. A large blade dissolves near
Joey and slices his left arm from his body. His arm quickly disappears.

Tsubaki: Joey! Are you alright?

A bloody blade appears and chops Joey's right arm clear off his body
and snatches Tsubaki away from him quickly.

Tsubaki: No! Joey! Help me!

Joey: Tsubaki! Why does this not hurt? Have a already lost the feeling
in my body? And if not why aren't I bleeding?

Tsubaki's body falls on Joey covered in blood. Her eyes quickly fades
pitch white as she blankly stares at him.

Tsubaki: I'm scared! I'm hurting! I don't want to be here! I want to
go home!

Joey: Tsubaki! I thought you were an android. You shouldn't be bleeding.

Tsubaki's body falls limp and lifeless.

Joey: No! Tsubaki! Tsubaki! Don't take her! Take me! Show yourself you
murderous bastard!

Voice: Wake up stupid! Don't make it any harder than that!

Joey: I said show yourself!

Joey's arms reappear. He then reaches out and grabs a soft sphere.

Voice: Kya! Joey!

Joey: S-Sabrina! You're dead!

Voice: Wait I didn't-

A mysterious force hits Joey sending him flying through the air. Joey
loses feeling in his body.

Joey: So now I can't move. Do your worst fiend!

He then feels a strong force hit his stomach.

Voice: Wake up!

Joey: Stop attacking me!

Darkness disappears as Joey holds a limp slightly beaten Delta.

Joey: Huh? What? Why?

Delta: Okay! I get it. I won't attack you next time.

Joey: I'm back? I'm back!

Sabrina: Idiot...that reminds me.

Sabrina leaves the room and brings back a book.

Joey: Homework after I finally-

Sabrina: Save it you pervert!

Sabrina strikes Joey with the book to the cranium. Joey falls
unconscious.

P. Strikes: You do know he isn't aware of what's going on right?

Sabrina: Eh? You mean he has no idea he attacked Delta and groped me?

P. Strikes: Right.

Sabrina: You can stop then Delta.

The professor looks at Delta kicking Joey around the classroom.

Delta: Not yet! This is for earlier you traitor! And this! And this!
And some of these!

Tsubaki begins waking and sees Delta playing soccer with Joey as a
human ball. She quickly gets up and tackles him.

Tsubaki: Stop it!

She then balls both her hands and hammers Delta on the chest. Delta
lays unconscious near Joey.

Tsubaki: J-Joey!

She then leaves Delta and places her head on Joey's chest.

Tsubaki: He's ok. Thank goodness.

Sabrina: Tsubaki. You really did a number to Delta. A small crater on
the floor on the exact outline of his body. I'll remember not to get
on your bad side.

Joey begins to awaken. Tsubaki lifts her head and looks Joey in the
eyes slightly tearing.

Joey: Tsubaki?

Tsubaki: Welcome back.

P. Strikes: What the heck were you thinking bashing Delta around like
that? What was your motive to have gone berserk in your dreams?

Joey/Tsubaki: Darkness, pain, and suffering.

Sabrina: Oh brother. Get over yourself Joey.

P. Strikes: So I see. You're bleeding on my floor. Go get a change of
clothing.

Joey: What?

Joey looks at his body inspecting himself.

Joey: But I'm not-

Joey falls unconscious.

Sabrina: W-wha? Joey!

Tsubaki: He's lost a lot of blood. He needs attention now!

Sabrina: I'll get his clothing.

Tsubaki: ...I've called an ambulance. They are on their way.

P. Strikes: I wonder what kind of affects are happening in his body.

Sabrina: What?! Didn't you mix the fluids?

P. Strikes: With two different items. I'm aware of the second but not
the first. Not to mention Tsubaki's DNA entered him also. She is after
all half human and half machine.

Tsubaki: My body is...feeling light...

Joey and Tsubaki's hair begins to quickly fade white. Tsubaki
collapses near Joey.

Sabrina: T-Tsubaki!

P. Strikes: Quickly! Plug her up so her info won't be reset!

Sabrina moves her hair and pulls a wire from her shoulder and plugs
her into an outlet.

Voice: Installing backup program Alert.

Sabrina: We lost her didn't we?

P. Strikes: Oh crap. Today just isn't his day.

The ambulance rush into the classroom and retrieves Delta and Joey.
They quickly leave the room after seeing Joey's loss of blood.

P. Strikes: Go with them. I'll recover Tsubaki's data.

Sabrina: Alright.

Sabrina quickly follow the ambulance crew and enter the transporter
with her two unconscious friends.

Sabrina: Hang in there guys. You'll both recover in no time.

Minutes later Joey is carried into the emergency room. Delta is
quickly rushed into the X-Ray room.

Nurse: I'm sorry but you'll have to wait in the waiting room.

Sabrina: But, those are my closest friends! Isn't there someway I can
be near them?

Nurse: I'm sorry.

Sabrina and the nurse enter the waiting room.

Nurse: I shall call for you as soon as one of your friends wake up.

Sabrina: Alright. Thank you.

The nurse leaves the room. Hours pass and night falls into the room.
Sabrina begins to worry about Joey and Delta's health. Moments later a
nurse enters the waiting room.

Nurse: Miss. Your friend Delta has awaken.

Sabrina: Alright. May I go see him?

Nurse: This way miss.

The nurse escorts Sabrina to Delta's room. Delta looks at Sabrina as
she enters the room.

Sabrina: Delta! You're ok!

Delta: Yeah. I'm unharmed. She just used a massive air pressure
against me.

Sabrina: No broken or bruised bones?

Delta: Nope. But I got a good nap.

Sabrina looks at Delta.

Delta: So much for the concerned expression. How is Joey?

Sabrina: I don't know. Last I heard he was bring rushed into to E.R.

Delta: Is the damage that bad?

Sabrina: I don't know.

Delta: I thought it was only an injection. Nothing but a loss of blood.

Sabrina: I don't know!

Delta slightly looks at Sabrina and sighs. He then puts his shirt on
and places his hand on her shoulder.

Delta: Do you really think that idiot would die this easily?

Sabrina looks towards Delta in confusion.

Sabrina: No, but we aren't invincible.

Delta: Then suck it up and let's go wait on that lucky punk.

Sabrina: You're right. No need thinking negatively. Positive brings
hope and luck.

Delta: You should know me by now. I'm never wrong!

Sabrina looks at Delta.

Delta: Don't ruin the moment.

Sabrina: Three words. Age, not shoe.

Delta: And there goes the moment. Let's just go already.

Delta and Sabrina leave the room and enter the waiting room. As soon
as Sabrina enters the waiting room a nurse quietly enters and taps her
shoulder.

Sabrina: You're Joey's nurse! Is he ok?

Nurse: He's doing fine. Yet we have no clue where the lost blood came
from. But his blood type changed from ab to o. It's quite unusual but
he managed to survive.

Delta: Can we go and see him?

Nurse: Sure. He's not awake yet so do try to keep quiet.

Sabrina/Delta: Alright.

The nurse leads them to Joey's room then quietly leaves.

Sabrina: Hmmm? Faya? Why are you here? I thought you and Joey stopped
talking?

Faya: N-no. We didn't stop talking. When I heard he was hospitalized I
had to come see him.

Delta: Ah so you like him.

Faya begins blushing and quickly turns away.

Sabrina: Way to burst her bubble. But Faya, does he know you have
feelings for him?

Faya: Not as of yet...I'm still unable to tell him face to face.

Joey: T-tell me what?

Faya quickly looks at Joey.

Faya: J-Joey! H-how long have you been awake?

Joey: Since I heard Delta blurt your feelings.

Faya stands up quickly.

Faya: B-but...h-he! Excuse me!

Faya quickly leaves the room blushing.

Sabrina: Once again. Nice one Delta.

Delta: ...fine I'll go say "I'm sorry" so she'll come back and wrap
her mouth on Joey to make sure he can breath on his own.

Joey: When I'm released, I promise to hurt you.

Delta: Uh...I'll be right back.

Delta leaves the room.

Sabrina: So how are you feeling?

Joey: Like crap but I can't complain. At least I'm ok.

Sabrina: Good to hear it.

Joey: Ah how is Tsubaki?

Sabrina: A-about her. The professor is bringing her here soon. Her
program was damaged.

Joey: What!

Joey grabs a hold of his chest and begins coughing.

Sabrina: B-be careful Joey! I'm sure she's ok!

Joey slowly stops coughing and lays calmly.

Joey: Yeah. You're right. She'll be ok.

The door swings open. Delta walks in followed by Faya and P. Strikes.
A young lady in a trench coat and hat enters the room behind the
professor.

Joey: Professor? Who is the girl?

P. Strikes: Well this girl is to be Tsubaki but her info was wiped
completely. Therefore you now have Kina.

Joey: Kina? You replaced Tsubaki!

Kina removes the trench coat and hat.

Sabrina: Hmm? Blonde hair and green eyes? Didn't Tsubaki gave silver
hair and red eyes?

Joey: Yeah. She...did...but she's gone now. Darn it!

Kina: I-I'm sorry about your loss Joey. I hope I can be of service as
your last P.A.

Joey: ...Thanks Kina. But if you guys don't mind...I'd like some time
alone.

Sabrina: O-of course Joey. Will you be ok?

Joey: It's ok Sabrina. I'm just going to rest more.

Sabrina: O-ok. If you need me you have my number.

P. Strikes: We'll come back later to check on you.

Delta: You better be at class tomorrow.

Joey: Yeah yeah, I'm tired not dead.

Delta: Very true. Just stay away from the light.

Joey: Bah. Go on.

Sabrina, Delta and the professor leave the room. Faya stands near the
door and looks back at Joey.

Faya: J-Joey?

Joey: Don't worry. I'll come back to see you.

Faya: A-alright. Maybe have some tea together?

Joey: Sure. While we're at it a movie or dinner would be nice also.

Faya begins blushing.

Faya: S-sure. Please rest up.

Faya leaves the room and closes the door behind her. Joey turns to his
side and looks out the window.

Joey: ...Tsubaki...
