Saturday night saw two great fights. The undercard saw Eddie "Kid Cherokee" Green make his long awaited return to the ring after a year layoff in a strong showing against contender and #12 ranked Hiro Takeda, stopping the Japanese fighter in the 7th round. Green was able to use his size and strength to bully Takeda all night and now waits in the wings for a chance to regain his title. In the main event #9 ranked Abel Ramos took on the #6 ranked Friday Costaud in the last quarter-final match of the welterweight tournament. Ramos put on the pressure early but Costaud was able to use the ring and throw out effective jabs and right hands to keep the fight as his preferred distance. Ramos kept up his attack and eventually got his opponent against the ropes, working the body and slowing him down. It was a heated back and forth and at the end of the day, Ramos was awarded a razor thin unanimous decision, securing his spot in the semi-finals where he'll face off against Hawaii's Arnold Bowman.
