The M1A1 Thompson is a .45 submachine gun used by both the U.S. Army and French Liberation Army forces in ArmA 3 . It was added with the release of the Spearhead 1944 Creator DLC . The M1A1 Thompson is a selective-fire, blowback-operated submachine gun that is chambered to fire the .45 ACP cartridge.

It can load either 30- or 20-round box magazines, and can attain a fire rate of approximately ~ 705 rounds per minute with a muzzle velocity of 285 m/s. Thompson SMGs cannot be customised with optical sights, and it is also not possible to attach a suppressor.
