There are a couple of reasons why Braeburn is a more suitable mate for Twilight:
1. Being an earth pony has its advantages, such as physical strength. So that counts him as a hardworking boyfriend.
2. He might seem a bit rough around the edges, but he's a real gentlecolt. Applejack can vouch for that. Who knows him better than his own family members?
3. Unlike Flash Sentry, Braeburn's not a Palace Guard. A fellow user and I thought that this would've been used as a sales pitch: "Hey! Sign up in the Palace Guard and you might get a Princess!" Come on, they've already done it with Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, with the guy being the Captain of the Guard. Someone needs to write this to Hasbro Studios!
4. His family's pretty large, as seen in "Apple Family Reunion".
5. Who doesn't like apples?
