This thought just randomly popped into my mind and I kind of ship these two.

A bit of backstory for this picture:
Otohiko Meichi is a sickly but sweet boy who attends Akademi High. However due to his sickness he needs to take medications that make him drowsy so he unfortunately is always running late. One fateful day, Otohiko was rushing to school yet again due to over sleeping but this time he had the misfortune to run into one of the bully girls from school, she clearly saw him and yet pushed the button to close the gate as he walked away smirking!

In a desperate attempt to not be locked out he made a mad dash for the gate only to trip and fall as it began to close. Just when it seemed like things would take a turn for the worst a baseball bat comes flying out of no where, jamming itself in between the gate long enough to stall it.

"Get your ass up!" A gruff and irritated voice shouted, helping the shuddering male up onto his feet. "Do you have any idea how close you were to having your head popped like a damn watermelon?! You really want to get to school that bad?!"

"I-I'm sorry! I-I just felt strong enough to make it today....I was feeling really good this time so I thought..." His voice trailed off as he looked at the struggling gate, he winced a little, he had been so close to death just now but...this boy saved him. "Oh! Thank you so much for saving me! I'm Meichi Otohiko! Nice to meet you!"

"...Pff, whatever, just be more careful next time, you won't be so lucky next time." He flicked the sickly boy's forehead before yanking his bat out of the gate and turning to walk away.

"R-Right..." Otohiko rubbed his head before smiling bashfully, "I didn't catch your name sir...!" he had to at least know that much.

"I didn't throw it...but if you must know it's Umeji." He huffed, "And don't go tellin' everyone I saved your pathetic ass or I'll come back and crack ya! Got it?!"

The salmon haired male squeaked before nodding, "Yes sir!" He smiled much to Umeji's dismay.

"Whatever...now scram!" He huffed and walked way, resting his bat on his shoulder and went to the back of the school, leaving a confused but appreciative Otohiko behind.

Ever since that encounter Umeji would sometimes check on Otohiko in the nurses office when no one was around, this scene takes place after a Otohiko was bullied by the girls and he was found crying. It was then Umeji swore to protect him, ignoring the fluttering feeling in his chest every time the sickly boy is around. He'll protect him to the best of his abilities and will fight to protect the one he calls...a friend. He hates how weak Otohiko can be but it's only because he reminds him of himself before he became a delinquent, another reason he wants to protect him.
