Francis Blanc was once a nobody, a thug working for the Nox syndicate who was pushed around constantly, doing only what his former mob boss Adrian Black said, but he had a desire to become big, bigger then his employer, then any crime lord. When the criminal organization was finally broken from the capture of Adrian Francis tried to joined the Tantalus Syndicate but only found the same results, being pushed around and not getting the recognition he thinks he deserves. Then after the Violet Hour Francis found a shard and from the energy manifested the power to grow into a fifty foot giant with incredible strength and durability. With these powers Francis broke away and sought to take control of Marine City only for the Wonder to stop him, but he would be freed and this time would be forced to work for his new boss Antaeus. Now Francis serves as Antaeus's muscle and member of the Elite Eight, one of Marine City's biggiest villains, he is Gargantuan.
