Description
The Manticore is a fearsome monster that inhabits the marshes and plains of the Western Nations, a blight upon humanity and all other creatures of nature as it hunts down its prey and kills it with brutal will and little remorse. Legend has it the Manticores were born from a curse when a group of humans from Kardetha attempted to kill a dragon and eat its heart, for this foul deed the gods cursed them by turning them into abominations that had a mans face, a lions body, a scorpions tail and the wings and scales of dragons, then unleashed them on a kingdom lost to time. When Kardetha sank to the bottom of the sea and humanity exodus to Eludria the Manticore were able to board one of the arcs in secret and when they made land fall upon the continent of Eludria they adapted to the strange new world. For thousands of years and three ages these monsters have been a scourge upon mankind, attacking innocent villages and travelers, prompting many heroes and monster hunters to find and destroy the Manticores where ever they hid. Today the Manticore continues to endure in the Western Nations as they hunt down and kill anyone unfortunate enough to cross their violent paths.
