Description
Orna is one of my oldest OCs (not the oldest). She was originally introduced into an RP with a friend, who was named by them. Over time, I developed a backstory and the character, and gave official “birth” to Orna.

In The Elementals, Orna is one of the 13 Elementals, and happens to be the elemental of Thunder. The Electric Realm is broken into two factions and, in fact, has two Elementals: one for Thunder and one for Lightning. One cannot exist without the other, and if one dies, the other must either die or pass their role on to the next Elemental. It is uncommon for one to exist without the other. In years past, both of these Elementals are married or share some sort of co-leadership, as they are both born into the royal families.

Orna happens to be thrown into the role of the Elemental of Thunder at a young age, as the former Elemental died suddenly. Orna had been very attached to the former Elemental of Thunder, named Yasu. As Yasu’s death approached, her family had worried that there was no Ensign to replace her, as no new role had been found yet… the only other blood related relative in Yasu’s family was her 6 year old cousin from a related family: Orna. The benefit was that they were already close. The downside: the Elemental of Thunder was cursed to be the beholder of the Chalice, a mythical item created by the Greater Gods described as “an egg shaped cup that is the seed of life.”

Yasu had no time to inform her Ensign what her role as the protector of the chalice meant and passed information on to her Captain of the Guards, Ashtaroth. After Yasu’s death, Ash convinced Orna’s parents to hire bodyguards to protect Orna from harm, as he would be preoccupied with protecting the kingdom… Yasu’s death would certainly bring unwanted guests.

After her death, Orna took the position of the Elemental of Thunder and was introduced to her co-leader, who only gave her the name of “Thor.” (No, that’s not his real name). With a lack of experience and training in her element, Orna was thrown into training and education classes, and had forced meetings with the other Elementals. Orna watched as the current ranking of Elementals all either died or stepped down after Yasu’s death, and their roles were filled with new Elementals as well. Orna became close friends with Nahla, the new Elemental of Water and her cousin, Eira, the Elemental of Ice.

Orna was first assigned Nore, a human with shapeshifting abilities and weak lightning abilities (their shapeshifting abilities were unknown to anyone during this time). When Orna turned 15, she was assigned two new guards who inquired Ashtaroth about the position; not seeing them as threats, Ash introduced Orna and Nore to Kree and Surry. Little did they know, or anyone know, that these two guards were actually sent on a mission from the Dark Army after discovering leaked information about The Chalice…

Anyway, Orna is often viewed as being spoiled as she lived a very sheltered life after Yasu’s death. After Kree came into her life and gave her more freedom, she slowly became a more well-rounded person and people saw her for the kindhearted person she really was and not some spoiled princess. When Kree “dies” in the story and Surry is forced to leave Orna’s side (with Nore), Orna runs away from her role to try and find her three guards. She ends up meeting a boy named Lance and finds The Hideaway, where she stays for a few years.
