Foxkit perked her ears up as her mother nodded. "What's happening?" She asked, bounding towards Haresong. "Oh, they found a dog pack in our territory, they are sending a patrol to chase it out." Haresong mewed. "Cooool! Can I go?" Foxkit asked excitedly."How dumb are you, you're only three moons!" Dustkit teased playfully. "Hey!" Foxkit mewed and batted at Dustkit's ear.
"You'll be able to help the clan when you're apprentices." Haresong said, brushing her tail over Foxkit's spine.
"But that's three moons from now!"
Haresong rolled her eyes and went back to talking with Darkberry.
"I can't wait until I'm an apprentice..." Specklekit mewed quietly, padding into the den.
Foxkit flicked her head over to Dustkit "C'mon, let's watch!" Dustkit nodded and padded out of the den.
Morningstar glanced at Mossblaze "Set up some patrols- and use strong warriors, but keep a few in camp incase the dogs come here." Mossblaze nodded "Sandpelt, Ivytail, and Daisyflight will check the PineClan border. And Rowanfur, Brambletalon, and Heathershade will check the Mosslands."
The warriors nodded and left camp.
"The rest shall guard the camp."
"I wish I could go..." Foxkit mumbled. 'I wish the warriors didn't look at me like a helpless kit...' She thought and looked at her paws.
Dustkit glanced at her sister compassionately "Hey, come on, cheer up!" She thought for a heartbeat then looked at her sister "Why don't we play hunter and rabbit? I'll be the hunter!"
"I guess..." Foxkit mewed then raced across the clearing as the rabbit would.
Dustkit raced to her sister and jabbed her in the side.
Foxkit fell on the ground as Dustkit pretended to break her spine. Foxkit rose up, shaking dirt off her pelt. "Well that was fun." She growled sarcastically.
Dustkit sighed and watched as her sister ran into the nursery.
Foxkit sat down quietly, bored and unsure of what to do.
"You bored?" Darkberry mewed at the kit.
Foxkit nodded eagerly, maybe Darkberry would let her go on a mission!
"Well go and ask the elders to tell nursery tales like any other kit." Darkberry grunted and padded out of the den.
Foxkit tipped her head, it wasn't a special mission but it wouldn't hurt to know more about the clan!
"Thanks!" Foxkit mewed and raced into the elder's den.
"Hey Willowwish!" Foxkit mewed eagerly.
"Yes, Foxkit?" The old she-cat asked, tipping her head.
"Can I listen to some nursery tales?" She asked eagerly.
Willowwish nodded, "Sure, but get out of my nest."
"Oops! Sorry! Anyway, can I listen to the one about Morningstar's journey to the Moonbay?" Foxkit mewed, embarrassed.
