Description
Just a big steel box full of Starfuries, the Avenger-class carrier was Earthforce's main aircraft carrier throughout the Dilgar and Minbari wars. Armament was limited to a relatively basic interceptor/e-web grid since she was never intended to operate outside of a large fleet action. Illustrious was destroyed in the Fourth Battle of Balos, the Earth-led alliance's third attempt to liberate the planet from Dilgar control.

Based on the AoG design and originally put together by CanisD of Wolf's Shipyard, I've just done a bit of cosmetic work here. The name Illustrious has been given to two Royal Navy aircraft carriers, the second of which might become a museum ship. The EAS Illustrious features in the truly epic fafic The Dilgar War as the base of operations for the Ghostrider fighter squadron, whose members include the future General Hague and Major Ryan, and Commander Sinclair's father David.
