Description I just learned that in Europe, Donald Duck is one of the main hit characters. But not only that... europeans like their ducks in Carl Barks style. (Say that once again and your mind will start singing "Gangnam style involuntarily).
So here's a sample of Donald in Barks' style.

Wait, you mean Donald Duck isn't one of the most popular characters where you live?

I love the last three panels. Donald's annoyed that he lost his hat for a moment, then he tries to think it off for a moment, only to realize that he remembered to bring along a spare hat with him in case if he lost his first one.

You aced the test on capturing Carl Barks's style Dave.

Mostly that is because Barks PERFECTED Donald Duck ... although it is not the only Donald of note

That's not a bad take on Barks' style, Dave. Mind you, Disney comics are especially huge in Italy, where Mickey is known as "Topolino" and Donald "Paperino". 3000+ Issues of and still going strong, not including the vast treasury editions they print out also. And of all the "Topolino" issues I've collected, many of the illustrators that are involved over there tend to use their own style than imitate Barks' these days. Perhaps France still rely on Carl's style, but don't count on me 'bout that.

In particular, Stefano Intini, Corrado Mastantuono and Stefano Turconi (to name but a few) I keep an eye on whenever I'm over there; their art styles remind me very much of yours, actually, in terms of cartoony, fun drawing styles. So while it pays to be adaptable, don't be worried about pushing your own take on the Disney crew. We certainly have no complaints to speak of!

Top square's my favorite. That super happy grin is so stylish and... well... pleasantly twisted is the best way I can describe it.
