Actually Dave , I think the head of A (with bigger eyes) with the body of B would be perfect . Howard mostly looks pessimistic and bitter [link]

Am I the only one who noticed that while B looks closer to Gerber's original design, it also somewhat resembles the design from the comic adaptation of the 1986 movie (the final issue of MARVEL SUPER-SPECIAL)? That design was awful. But I like Alvarez's version better, as it has more appeal to it!

Definitely B. It's a cool, cartoony design while A makes me think of the movie, but in an animated style (I like it, too, though).

I'd go with B, but change the color of the suit & tie. His color chart could probably be mistaken with Donald. That's just me, though.

I'd personally go with B; Option A looks a little too much like Darkwing Duck.

I miss Howard The Duck, they both in their own way scream Howard to me, I think I like B the best though A is just as well done.

Let's see. Version B for anything that's pure comedy. This is cartoon Howard. He can do the slapstick, buttmonkey routines. Perfect for Looney Tunes or similar venues.
Version A has elements of The Kingpin from Marvel Comics. I'm noting the claws on his toes. An ideal version to have a face-heel turn. He'd be the one who'd watch version B rush in like a fool and self-destruct, then make a mental note: "Never do that."
Personal preference: version A. Lunacy can be fun, but there's always something intriguing about evil.
