Third Doctor and Captain Jack Harkness strip for Data Extract, the official magazine of the Doctor Who Club of Australia. I had 4 weeks to do 4 pages, and although that should have been plenty, I only have two days a week when I can work on art, and then had a personal crisis in the middle of this period, so the backgrounds were not really done at all. However, I am working for free, so I guess the editors got what they paid for...in fact, a lot more than that.

Drawing the Third Doctor is hard. Sometimes I got him right, sometimes I didn't. I did the lettering on this as well, and I'm really not a letterer, and I think it shows.

I think the layout of this page is terrible. I'm partially hampered by the fact I only have an A4 scanner, so each page is divided between the top half and lower half just so I don't have to piece together any panels in photoshop. This leads to problems with laying out the page, though, and it's particularly evident here. I'm not sure it's all that clear that Jack is winking at Mike Yates as he walks past in the final three panels, nor that Yates is quite embarrassed by the attention. Once again, needs more on the backgrounds.

I have three months to do the remaining 4 pages, so hopefully I can do a more complete job on them.
