Oh, I'm not disputing that. I personally like the Ambassador Class design better than Excelsior (at least the Enterprise-B version, with those useless additions).
But, that would theoretically be a good defense against the Borg. Use a modified version of a much older class ship, so the Borg thing you are not worth assimilating.
