MB's designs are really missing those pieces, but the head looks like megatron with a wolf mask (still, if they told me that was megatron, i wouldn't be as shocked as i was with MB's design)

I intended him to look scary. I like Megs as a character but the G1 version is not scary enough. I wanted him to be a kicka$$ Decepticon leader

Yes, I wanted him to be creepy, a bit oldschool and a little alien. I wanted Megs to give people the creeps as he says:
"In the name of the Decepticon Army, I, who is named Megatron in your language, and who bears the title of Leige, announce the war on your race!"
This speech will probably be featured in an upcoming tie-in short story...
