a respite
we look for empty seats
and we are aware that if we sit close to a stranger
we invade their traquility

has such a different feeling to an image of a person seated
in one image we relate to the person
in the other to the environment

i like to take photographs of vacant environments sometimes
rather than of the people occupying them
possibly because those vacant environments are rare
in the city
