Britney was drinker her banana smoothie with her feet on the cars dashboard. Today had been a great day. The back of the car was full of new clothes the family had bought. Her father had just got a raise and as such decided to spoil the family for a day. Allowing them a trip to the mall for a day of shopping. It was the mom who driving, that saw the smoke. She pointed it to the rest of the car and they all became interested in it. It bellowed high in the sky. The father mused that it looked like it was near their house. As they drove closer they realized it was coming from their neighborhood. Britney had a sinking feeling in her stomach. They finally pulled into the neighborhood and to their horror they saw their house on fire. Fire trucks lined the streets. They had stopped putting out the fire. It was far too gone to save anything. The family slowly walked to the house together. All of their possessions had burned to the ground. Britney’s mind was just blank. She couldn't process what was going on. Britney saw something in the front yard and walked to it as the firemen talked to her parents. Before her laid a chunk of burning flesh. She saw the collar and knew it was her dog flopsy. She broke down sobbing on the ground.
